On September 25, 2022, the first season of the Qalamdas literary award, dedicated to Olga Markova’s memory, ended with a solemn ceremony of awarding the winners.

On September 8, 2022, the Department of Kazakh Literature and Theory of Literature of the Philological Faculty of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University together with Zhambyl Zhabayev Scientific Center for the Study of Kazakh Folklore and Literature organized a Republican scientific-practical conference devoted to the 70th anniversary of the famous poet Otegen Oralbayuly “Trends in the development of modern poetry”.

On September 7, 2022, Lecturers of the Department of Foreign Languages A.Shayahmet and A. Otetileuova, Lecturer of the Department of Diplomatic Translation M.Myrzagaliyeva held the "National Day of Languages in Kazakhstan" event within the university Week of Languages.

At the beginning of each academic year, the teaching staff of the Department of Foreign Languages ​​annually tests 1st year undergraduate students to determine their level of foreign language proficiency.

In 2021-2022 academic year, at the Faculty of Philology at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Kokzhiek club organized the number of reading conferences and round tables devoted to M. Auezov’s 125^th. Auezov’s short stories: “Kokserek, “Okygan Azamat”; “Korgansyzdyn kuni” published by the writer in the early 20^th were discussed and analyzed.

The Department of Kazakh Literature and Theory of Literature of Faculty of Philology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with "Alau" , the Children's Rehabilitation Center (Almaty) within the framework of "Spiritual rebirth" program. According to this agreement, the teaching staff will provide a support in terms of the younger generation spiritual and moral education.

On April 21 2022, a jubilee event dedicated to the Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Philology, Professor Bagizbayeva Maya Mikhailovna took place. The 1st year students of the Faculty of Law and the Higer School of Economics аnd Buisness took an active part in this event, they held it in three languages: Kazakh, Russian and English.

On April 5, 2022, the Department of Kazakh Literature and Theory of Literature of the Faculty of Philology held a meeting with the famous poet, journalist Zharkyn Salenuly. The organizer of the meeting is the candidate of philological sciences, associate professor Mambetov Zh.O. The meeting was attended by students, undergraduates and doctoral students of the Faculty of Philology and the Faculty of Journalism. During the meeting Zharkyn Salenuly read his poems and answered questions.

An International conference “Current Trends in Interdisciplinary Issues” organized by the department for foreign languages was held on March 17,2022. The conference brought together 96 participants : young scientists, doctorate student and master course students. The   participants were happy to welcome professors Chris Korten, Kursat Cesur , professor Emerita P. Gilman, Professor Emeritus P. Minnis who gave keynote presentations at the plenary session.

Dean of the Faculty of Philology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Professor, Doctor of Philology Bayan Umirbekovna Dzholdasbekova was awarded the diploma by the Ministry of Information of the Republic of Belarus for strengthening and developing relations in the field of literature between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Belarus.
