The bases of philological text analysis

At the faculty of philology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University there was another lecture within the project: “Professor hour”. The professor of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation Studies, the doctor of philological sciences, Temirgaly Orazgalievich Temirbekov delivered the lecture. The lecture topic was: “The bases of philological text analysis”.

     Professor Essembekov started his lecture with the concept: “text”. He said that the text is a multilayer complex subtextual form which can be defined in a various ways. He made a scientific analysis of the topical problems of the general text theory: structural text elements, text boundaries, text production, text thinking, text status, text subjects, intertext, discourse, the statistic and dynamic character of the text, language consistency and text pronunciation and etc. Besides, in the lecture the lecturer provided  the additional information about the problem of the grammar of addressant   and the grammar of addressee in the text, the function of such linguistic units as syntaxeme, texteme and styleme.

     Professor Essembekov used the literary text criterion by Abai Kunanbayev, the great Kazakh poet to reinforce each his statement connected with text theory, making an accent on the text cohesion, coherence and clarity. He noticed that the text should be “gold inside” and “silver outside” .

   The lecturer talked about the text advantages and disadvantages. According to Professor Essembekov there have been observed the prevalence of the trends of literary-historical text analysis, linguistic analysis so far. He noticed that the philological analysis is a blend of analysis and synthesis approaches and it also touches upon the issues of content and form.

   The lecture delivered by the high-qualified and experienced litterateur – teacher, the professor of literary theory, Temirgali Essembekov raised very useful and topical issues on text theory. The master students, PhD students and lecturers of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, young researchers of Eurasian Humanitarian University, Atyrau State University and other universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, litterateur-teachers, the students of great scholars attended this lecture.
