Department of Kazakh linguistics

The research direction of the Department of Kazakh Linguistics is a comprehensive study of the Kazakh language in structural, cognitological, functional and semantic aspects in the diachronic and synchronous direction.

At present, there are 39 teachers, including: 6 doctors, 21 candidates, 10 masters, 2 senior lecturers at the department.

The department implements 3 educational programs for bachelor, master and PhD studies:

"8D02307 - Kazakh Philology".

The department studies the topical problems of Kazakh linguistics, carries out diachronic and simultaneous study of Kazakh language, develops   philological education , establishes a connection with other sciences.
Head of the Department of Kazakh linguistics Doctor of Philology is Professor A.B. Salkynbai. Department of Kazakh linguistics is one of the most advanced scientific centers of Kazakhstan studying Kazakh linguistics, forming the theoretical basis and contributing to its progressive development. The history of the formation of the department coincides with the initial period of systematization of Kazakh linguistics, as a branch of science. Therefore, the Department plays a significant role in science and in the formation of Kazakh linguistics, as a branch of science.
