The Department of Kazakh literature and Theory of Literature and Zhambyl Scientific-Reseach Centre of Faculty of Philology and World Literature of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosts the International scientific-methodological conference: “Zhambyl's heritage place and importance in modern literary study" dedicated to the 175th anniversary of Kazakh literature classic, poet- zhyrau Zhambyl Zhabayev. The conference will take place on February 24, 2021.

The scholars from near and far abroad: Turkey, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and domestic literary scholars, researchers, academics, university and school teachers, students, undergraduates, doctoral students and media representatives are invited to the conference.

The purpose of the online conference is to consider the literary work of the great singer of Kazakh Steppe, Zhambyl Zhabayev in the context of the world literature and to gain an understanding of  Zhambyl’s literary  works from viewpoint of  modern literary studies achievements. During the conference the special attention  will be paid to innovative methods of teaching Zhambyl studies. 
 

During the conference three sections will work:

  1. Accordance of Zhambyl's literary works with world literature;
  2. The present and future of Zhambyl Studies in the research of young scholars;

Participation requirements.

The working languages of the conference are: Kazakh, Russian and English. The conference proceedings will be published in electronic format with articles in three languages.

Deadline for paper submission is up to 20 February 2021.

 

In order to be included in the conference program, please send the paper (article) and the registration form of the conference participant in electronic version to the address of the organising committee.

Requirements for paper preparation:

  1. Electronic submissions are sent to .

2. Author's name, affiliation, academic degree, country should be in 14 Times New Roman, bold, italics font in the upper right-hand corner of the page (see sample).

3. The title of the article is centered (14 bold Times New Roman font) (see example).

4. The main text should be in 14 Times New Roman font, single-spaced and fully justified (see example). Paragraph indent of the main text is 1.5; placement of divisions in the text should be automatically.

5. References - after the main text ( 12 Times New Roman) (see sample).

6. The sources are put in square brackets at the end of the sentence. In the brackets the author indicates the source number according to the reference list as well as the page from this source (see sample).

7. Information about the author is given at the end of the text: surname, first name, patronymic (full); city; affiliation and position; academic degree and rank; students, masters, doctoral students indicate the educational institution, course, faculty or department (see sample).

8. Materials should not exceed 6 pages.

9. Attention! Papers not corresponding to the conference theme and not edited will not be included in the conference proceedings.
