Brief information about the event: On May 27, 2022 Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (Almaty, Kazakhstan) together with the Institute of Foreign Languages of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (Moscow, the Russian Federation), Al-Farabi Eurasian Research Center of Istanbul University (Turkey, Istanbul), Aitmatov Academy (London, the UK), International Taraz Innovation Institute (Taraz, Kazakhstan) holds the traditional conference International: The XXVth Akhanov Readings for the 25th time .

Since 1998, the Faculty of Philology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has been hosting the International Akhanov Readings. The format of the conferences was different. So, on May 12-13, 2006, within the framework of the IXth International Akhanov Readings, the International Conference "Language and Identity" was conducted under the auspices of the International Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature (IATRLL, Russia). In the past few years, the conference was organized with the joint participation of the RUDN Institute of Foreign Languages (Moscow, the Russian Federation), Al-Farabi Eurasian Research Center of Istanbul University (Istanbul, Turkey), Aitmatov Academy (London, the UK), the Taraz International Innovation Institute (Taraz, Kazakhstan). ). The geography of the conference participants is represented by scientists from Kazakhstan, Russia, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, the USA, China, Spain, Poland, the Czech Republic, Latvia, Israel, Iran, Portugal, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Tajikistan, Taiwan, Bulgaria, Uzbekistan and other countries. The main conference topics were " Language and Identity " (2006), " Language and Tolerance " (2007), Polylingualism : language - consciousness - culture" (2008), "Language and mentality" (2009) , "Language and usage" (2011), "Language and innovation" (2012), "Language and globalization" (2013), "Language Modernization: Challenges of the Time " (2015), "Language as soft power" (2016), " Language, intercultural communication and national identity: a look into the future " (2018), " Sustainable Development: Language, Intercultural Communication and Digital Technologies " (2021) and others. The international format of conferences allows discussing topical issues of modern linguistics, the formation of mentality, identity, the interaction of language and consciousness, the participation of language and culture in mental processes, the implementation of a dialogue of languages and cultures, etc. The XXIVth conference, held in 2021, made it possible to identify the problems and prospects for the study of languages, their teaching in new modern conditions with the expansion of the information space and the use of modern technologies.

Representatives of universities and research structures from Russia, Great Britain, Kazakhstan, Moldova, the USA, Turkey, Tunisia and other countries have already confirmed their participation in the event.
