On October 28, in the Faculty of Medicine and Healthcare, a poster competition “My language and my culture” was held among foreign students studying in the specialty of General Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy.
From 19 September to 14 October 2022 Professor A.K. Kiklevich from the University of Warmia and Mazury (Poland) delivered the lectures on the general topic «Modern Problems of Functional Stylistics and Pragmalinguistics».
On October 25, 2022, the 2nd year students of the 204th group of the specialty "6B01701 – Kazakh Language and Literature" of the Philological Faculty of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University , together with teachers of the Department of Kazakh Literature and Theory of Literature, organized an event in the House of Students No. 17 devoted to the celebration of the Republic Day "Egemen Bolmai, El bolmas!.
The purpose of the educational hour is to tell the students about the history of the origin of the national holiday of the Republic of Kazakhstan – the Republic Day, to instill the patriotism and love for their motherland in young generation.
"Lingua" Club leader with 1st year students of the Law Faculty within the framework of "Aynalandy nurlandyr" project, held an event dedicated to the Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The event topic was: “The Republic of Kazakhstan is My Motherland”.
On October 10, 2022 at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University library in room 304 Prof. Chris Korten delivered his first lecture on the topic: “How to write a research proposal” for the master degree students, PhD students and lectures of the Faculty of Philology. He shared interesting ideas and useful internet resources on writing research proposals in English. At the end of the lecture the lecturer answered the audience’s questions.
From 26 to 30 September, 2022 the Department of Kazakh literature and theory of literature organized a series of educational events devoted to M. Auezov’s 125th anniversary. This series of events ended the competition: “Auezov’s readings” among the 1st, 2d, 3d and 4th year students. The students divided into 5 teams. Each team should have recited one of Auezov’s poems and prepared the performance on one of the writer’s literary works. At the end of the competition there was a quiz. The competition winners were awarded diplomas and letters of gratitude.
On September 30, 2022, the Department of Kazakh Literature and Theory of Literary of Philological Faculty of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University awarded the winners of the Republican Literary Competition, which was organized among healthcare workers. The competition was dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the outstanding public figure, the scholar and the teacher, Akhmet Baitursynuly.
On September 30 2022, at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, at the Faculty of Philology, the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation Studies and Tranlsation Club Tazhiman hosted an educational event: "Translation and interpreting professions are noble professions" dedicated to the translator's day.
As a part of the opening of the Auezov Week, the staff of the Department of Kazakh Literature and Theory of Literature of the Faculty of Philology of Al-Farabi KazNU in honor of the the writer, Mukhtar Auezov's 125th anniversary organized an excursion for students to the M. Auezov House-Museum, where the writer spent the last ten years of his life. The teachers and students of the department were met by the museum staff. The museum guide, Saltanat showed the students the garden planted by M.O. Auezov, then she made an exursion for the students around the exhibition hall dedicated to the life and work of the writer. It was opened specifically for the writer's centenary. Leaving the exhibition hall, the students visited the writer's two-storey house. Students got acquainted with interesting events from the life of the writer, and also received unforgettable impressions from the excursion to the House-Museum of M.O. Auezov.
On September, 2022 the scientific-creative club: “Kokzhiek” hosted the literary-educational evening: “Parasatka Tagyzym” devoted to three Kazakh writers: M. Auezov, Sh. Murtaza, and O. Bokeev.
