IV International Scientific and Methodical Conference: «Globally Interconnected: New Opportunities and Challenges for Sustainable Development»

On March 16, 2023, the Department of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Philology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University  held IV International Online Conference: «Globally Interconnected: New Opportunities and Challenges for Sustainable Development» under Sustainable Development United Nations Programme for young researchers. Scholars from far abroad, master’s degree students, and doctoral students from Kazakhstani Universities, near and far abroad universities participated in the conference. The conference consisted of two stages: plenary session and panel sessions.

Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages, Muldagaliyeva Aizhan opened the work of the plenary session with a welcoming speech. She expressed words of gratitude to the conference participants for joining today’s event. Prof. Muldagalieyeva Aizhan emphasized the importance of the given event for young researchers. She said this conference offered young researchers a good opportunity to develop their public speaking skills in English. Then the floor was given to the head of the Department of Foreign Languages, candidate of philosophical sciences, Dosmagambetova Jamila. She also thanked the participants for their support and participation and admitted the great significance of the given scientific event for the Department. Mrs. Dosmagambetova pointed out that this year the conference had expanded its geographical borders. These words ended the welcoming part and opened the plenary session work.

The well-known foreign scholars: Paula Ozhehowska (Germany, Eberhard Karl University of Tübingen), Lukasz Smoluche (Adam Mickiewicz University, Poland), Christopher Korten (Moscow State Institute of International Relations, Russia), Kurshat Dzhesur, (Canakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Turkey) made the interesting presentations about their scientific achievements at the plenary session. 

Afterwards, the panel sessions followed.   Panel session work focused on three trends: socio-humanitarian, natural sciences, and physical-technical. The best reporters were awarded diplomas.
