On November 21, 2020, on the ZOOM platform, the faculty of philology and world languages held the international scientific and educational forum on the topic: «Outstanding Philologists: History and Modernity» dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Kazakh philologist, Doctor of Philology, Professor Moisei Mikhailovich Kopylenko. The plenary forum part began with a speech by an outstanding linguist, professor of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, E. D. Suleimenova. Professor Suliemenova E.D. emphasized the importance and value of Moisei Mikhaloivich Kopylenko’s scientific work for philology development in Kazakhstan. Professor M. Sh. Sarybaeva continued the plenary part. M. Sh. Sarybaeva told about the main stages of the great scientist-philologist’s life and scientific work. Professor M. Sh. Sarbybaeva finished her report with a lyric poem. The guest from Kyrgyzstan, Shermatova S.N., the Deputy Director on methodological work and industrial practice of the Professional College of J. Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University, took part in the forum. Shermatova S.N. told about the current research trends in the field of linguistics and literary studies at the universities of Kyrgyzstan. The plenary part of the speech ended with an interesting and informative presentation by the associate professor of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Amanzholova D.B. The presentation was devoted to the work and life of the famous Soviet children's writer, S.Ya. Marshak.

After the plenary part, the sectionalforum part commenced. PhD students of the Faculty of Philology and World Languages made their reports in this part. The sectional part included three sections: 1) Person in linguistics; 2) Paradigms of literary creativity; 3) Famous Educators.

The forum ended with the video lecture by the famous scholar and linguist, professor Shchukin A.N.
