On November 11, 2020, the lecture was delivered on the ZOOM platform on the topic: Rebirth of the national spirit for teachers and students of the Faculty of Philology and World Languages.

On November 11, 2020, a regular meeting of the English song lovers club was held. According to the plan, the topic of the meeting was “Favorite melodies and songs”.

On November 10, 2020, at 12 o'clock Almaty time, on the ZOOM platform, by the initiative of the Faculty of Philology and World Languages and the Deaprtment of Kazakh Linguistics, the outstanding philologist of the Republic of Kazaskhtan, professor, Amir Rakhysh Satuly delivered the lecture for the faculty teachers and students. The lecture topic was Acquiring philological competence in accordance with the needs of modern society.

After the quarantine announcement, educational institutions around the world switched to the distance learning. On the one hand, such a sudden transition was difficult for students and teachers, on the other hand, it created a good basis for international educational teleconferences between secondary school teachers and university lecturers. 

On November 6, 2020 at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University the international round table discussion “Sh. Ualikhanov: a brilliant meteor of the Kazakh steppe "dedicated to the 185th anniversary of Sh. Ualikhanov's birth  was held.

The life of the whole world has significantly changed since COVID-19. People don’t often see each other these days, cafes, cinemas, restaurants and other public places stopped working. All educational institutions switched to distance learning.

Students of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University once again showed their creativity by making a magnificent masterpiece of leaves. On Sunday, students of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University created a portrait of the great thinker and teacher, Al-Farabi from leaves. The composition, created from leaves by our students' hands, attracted the attention of passers-by and wasn’t left unnoticed. Looking at this unusual production, you can forget about the pandemic.

By the advisers of the club, the head of the department of foreign languages, candidate of philological sciences, associate professor Adilbayeva U. B and the senior teacher of the department Gaiipova G. organized a scheduled meeting “English talking club” on October 31, 2020 on the ZOOM platform.

The second meeting of the Time to Sing club took place on October 30, 2020.

On October 30, 2020 the leader of the club "Movie Fans", the senior lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages, Tleugabylova Z. A. held an on-line event which included the film "Elizabeth"(1998) screening and discussion in English. The event was held according to the plan of the club with the 1st-year students of the specialties "Management" and "Economics" of the Higher School of Economics and Business.
