The Independence Day of Kazakhstan is celebrated annually on December 16. On December 11, 2020, in honor of this national holiday, Associate Professor of the Foreign Languages Department of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Adilbaeva U.B. and senior lecturer, Gayipova G.A. held an educational event on the theme "Independence - freedom of my country" within the framework of the project “Brighten the corner where you are”.
On December 11, 2020, on the Zoom online platform from 4 pm to 5 pm in the kazakh group 101-104 (2) students of the Faculty of Law with a specilty «Jurisprudence” under the University project “Green Campus”, an educational event was held on the topic “Let's protect our nature! " in English language.
On December 9, 2020, the senior lectures of the Department of Foreign languages of the Faculty of Philology and World languages, Makhmetova D.M., Nessipbayeva Z.A. and Lugovskaiya E.I. held the educational event on the topic: Independent Kazakhstan. The event was conducted with the 1st year students of the Russian Department of Physico-Technical Faculty and Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology. The event was organized within the framework of the educational project: “Brighten the corner where you are”.
English song lovers’ club had its planned session on the 09.12.2020. The meeting was held by the senior lecturers, Orazayeva G.A. and Mussanova G.A. of the Department of Foreign Languages of the Philology and World Literature Faculty.
December 9, 2020 teachers of the Department of Foreign Languages Myrzakhmet M.Zh. and Zhirenshina G.A. on the eve of Independence Day, an educational event "Great holiday - Independence Day" was held on the Zoom platform with first-year students of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science.
Beket Utegenov, the 1st year master student majoring in Kazakh philology, took the first place in the republican competition: “Young Scientist – 2020”. The teachers of the Department of Kazakh Linguistics congratulate Beket on this achievement.
On 8 December 2020, on the Zoom platform, the senior teacher of the Department of Foreign Languages Mombekova N.B. held an educational event with the 1st year students of the specialty «Land Settlement» dedicated to the Day of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan «Independence - my incomparable wealth».
For several years at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the students from Turkmenistan have been studying Russian at the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature of the Faculty of Philology and World Languages. Foreign students develop their communication skills not only in the classroom, but also at the meetings of the "Russian World" ethnoclub, where they acquire discussion skills in Russian and demonstrate creativity. The main aim of the club is to at the improve the foreign students's language skills and help them to adapt to the new social and cultural environment.
