On November 26-27, 2020, International Scientific and Methodological Conference on the topic "Digitalization of the Economy and Education: new technologies in the context of a pandemic" will be held online as part of the economic forum "Economic Development of the Region: management, innovation, training".
On October 29, 2020, a meeting with 1-year master's degree students was held at the Higher School of Economics and Business of Al-Farabi KazNU. Dean of the Higher School of Economics and Business, Doctor of Economics, Acting Professor Sagieva Rimma Kalymbekovna made a presentation about the life of the faculty and wished them success in their studies. Deputy Dean on Research & Innovation Affairs and International Relations, PhD Zhidebekkyzy Aknur introduced the undergraduates to the main provisions and procedural documents, clarified issues regarding publication in the Scopus / WoS database.
According to the results of the “Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject 2021” subject rating, Al-Farabi KazNU improved scientific indicators and strengthened its position in a number of specialties. The WUR by Subject ranked more than 1500 world best universities in 11 subject areas. The methodology of the global rating is based on 13 key indicators that are combined into five groups of indicators and reflect the key areas of research activities of universities. Ranking data is collected from three sources: statistical information, the Scopus bibliometric database, and a survey of academic experts.
The Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (PFUR), on the basis of an agreement on cooperation in education and science and an agreement on academic exchange of students, sent 4th year students in marketing to study at Al-Farabi KazNU to strengthen international cooperation and improve the quality of the students' training.

14th of September, 2020, 10th Global Islamic Finance Awards 2020 Ceremony, which celebrates achievements and contributions of institutions and individuals towards development and expansion of the Islamic banking and finance industry, held on in Islamabad of Pakistan Islamic Republic. Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Scientific and educational Islamic Finance Centre was awarded for Best Emerging Islamic Finance Education Provider 2020, in recognition contribution of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University excellence in Islamic finance.
On September 3, 2020, the Higher School of Economics and Business hosted an online round table dedicated to the discussion of the Address of Head of state Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the people of Kazakhstan "KAZAKHSTAN IN A NEW REALITY: TIME FOR ACTION". Leading scientists and teachers of the faculty made presentations on several areas of the Address: evaluating the effectiveness of government programs, budget policy, monetary policy, support for entrepreneurship, science and education, logistics systems, etc.
