Islamic Finance in Kazakhstan: prospects from AIFC and partners
On 27th of May 2019, project partners from the Kazakhstan and Russia took part at the webinar on the project “Strengthening the integration of higher education in corporate sectors in accordance with the new social environment” ENINEDU ERASMUS+.
On May 17, The Memorandum of Understanding dedicated to cooperation in Islamic Finance was signed between Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Hamad Bin Khalifa University (Qatar), and the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) within the framework of the XII Astana Economic Forum.
As part of the program of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan on attracting foreign professors to teaching, the Department of Economics of the Higher School of Economics and Business invited David Cheletti - PhD, professor, researcher from the University of Padova (Padova, Italy) for the period from April 1, 2019 to April 30, 2019 to conduct lectures and classes for the 1st course master students.
On May 2, 2019, it was held a meeting with the participation of representatives of the Malaysian company ZICO Shariah Advisory Services, the International Financial Center, the Higher School of Economics and Business and the Center for Islamic Finance. This meeting was held in the framework of cooperation between AIFC and KazNU on the development of Islamic finance in Kazakhstan.
