  • MODEL OF GRADUATING STUDENT

Upon completion of this educational program, doctoral students are expected to be able to:

ON1 - to Demonstrate the presence of a significant amount of scientific knowledge acquired in a systematic way and reflecting the current state of Islamic Finance, its specific areas.

ON2 - Organize, process and analyze knowledge that allows to give a critical assessment of the problems studied and discussed in the framework of the development of Islamic Finance in the world, Europe.

ON3 - to Study the trends and patterns of investment of Takaful companies, analyze the current state and predict future investment flows; to present new research on investment models of Takaful companies and assess the applicability of Takaful models.

ON4 - Systematize the global financial experience on the topics of financial systems assessment, corporate governance, Islamic Finance and public policy; explore the regulatory framework within the framework of compliance with Sharia principles, and predict the opportunities for the development of the Islamic financial industry in Kazakhstan.

ON5 - to monitor the evolution of the Takaful industry in the world economy and to create their own models about the importance of risk sharing through discussion of various models of cooperation and critical analysis of their effectiveness, including lighting case studies and critical evaluation of the Islamic insurance models and alternative financing mechanisms.

ON6 - Based on the study of concepts, design features, contract structures, profitability and payments in all twelve global sukuk markets, develop practical recommendations for the application of these tools in real-world scenarios, providing Islamic Finance professionals and non-specialists with a deeper understanding of the sukuk market in the corporate sector as well as in Islamic banking and Finance.

ON7 - Critically analyze and compare the fundamental concepts of the activities of Islamic investment funds, apply methods and tools of analysis in the organization of Islamic investment for both Muslims and non-Muslims.

ON8 - to Develop applied models of processes, phenomena and objects related to the field of Islamic financial management; to develop products for the Islamic financial industry; to evaluate and implement the Islamic banking model and financial regimes currently used by Islamic financial institutions; to consider the future prospects and opportunities of the Islamic financial industry.

ON9 - to Integrate the results of scientific research into the educational process in the development of educational programs, training courses, modules, educational and methodical documentation; to develop and implement in the educational process the author's course based on the competence approach.

ON10 - Proanalizirovav international experience in the field of international development and Finance to assess financial systems, corporate governance, Islamic Finance and public policy to offer their own informed perspective on corporate Finance within the Islamic Finance industry, to develop a corporate strategy to plan, coordinate and manage an Islamic Finance company.

ON11 - to Create financial innovations in the form of sukuk production in the Kazakh market; to conduct an independent financial examination of the commercial project, implementation of license, certification requirements and regulatory and methodological documents to assess the feasibility of sukuk production and its efficiency, optimization of business processes, business models, selection of effective solutions for the company's development in the sukuk market.

ON12 -to Demonstrate organizational skills and initiative; to form business contacts, to carry out effective communication with the internal and external environment of the company; to be adequately guided in various social situations; to be fluent in a foreign language for the implementation of scientific communication and international cooperation; competent in carrying out qualified conclusions on complex problems in the field of Islamic Finance, to be able to clearly Express their ideas and conclusions, both for specialists and non-specialists.

As a result of mastering the discipline, the undergraduate will be able to: 1. to determine the type of risks in Islamic securities and to clarify the mechanism of its management; 2. apply the basic concept of Islamic securities risks in their characterization and assessment; 3. assess the use of derivatives and hedging instruments, futures and swaps; 4. use risk management methodology in accordance with Islamic principles; 5. develop options for management decisions when buying Islamic securities in international markets and justify their choice on the basis of digital technologies 6. evaluate the features of Islamic financial institutions in the Islamic securities market; 7. design, develop and implement innovative financial instruments and processes related to the placement of Islamic securities. Regulation of securities, fundamentals and principles of Islamic Finance in relation to these instruments; t-test of comparison between ordinary bonds and Islamic securities, risk factors, as well as the issue of various types of Islamic securities

  • Description: The purpose of the scientific writing discipline is to form the ability of doctoral students to have skills and practical skills in the field of application development and improvement of competence in the field of academic writing: the ability to properly organize their own ideas of scientific research, clearly substantiate them and convincingly express them; knowledge of the technology of structuring an academic text; reflection skills: searching for errors and analyzing your own text for writing scientific papers.The discipline provides further development and improvement of competence in the field of academic writing for the application of acquired knowledge and skills in the field of finance, accounting, auditing, financial and managerial analysis in English, including such important aspects as writing articles on the topic of research and publishing them in foreign scientific magazines, graphic design, tables and illustrations. The course of the discipline examines the organization of the text in academic writing, the features and rules of writing an article: an overview of the sections, content, and the creation order. Also, special attention is paid to the methodology: writing scientific visuals and presentations, features of scientific English: grammar, style, vocabulary, sentence structure and punctuation.

  • Description: The main purpose of "PhD thesis writing and defence": of a doctoral dissertation is the formation of the doctoral students' ability to disclose the content of research work for the defense of the thesis. During the study of course, doctoral student's should be competent in: 1. to substantiate the content of new scientifically grounded theoretical and experimental results that allow to solve a theoretical or applied problem or are a major achievement in the development of specific scientific directions; 2. explain the assessment of the completeness of the solutions to the tasks assigned, according to the specifics of the professional sphere of activity; 3. they can analyze alternative solutions for solving research and practical problems and assess the prospects for implementing these options; 4. apply the skills of writing scientific texts and presenting them in the form of scientific publications and presentations. 5. to plan and structure the scientific search, clearly highlight the research problem, develop a plan / program and methods for its study, formalize, in accordance with the requirements of the State Educational Establishment, the scientific and qualification work in the form of a thesis for a scientific degree Doctor of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) on specialty «8D07502 – Standardization and certification (by industry)».
