Within the framework of events dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Day of the Economist, Professor of the Department of Economics Dauliyeva G.R. together with the 3rd year students of the specialty "Economics" conducted an intellectual game "Uzdik Economist" for students.
The Department of Economics held an international scientific and practical online conference on the topic "Competitiveness of the economy: challenges and trends", dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Day of the Economist. The conference was attended by an invited foreign professor from Poland, representatives of educational communities, teaching staff, doctoral students, undergraduates and students.
December 1-7, 2020 Department of Business Technologies, Higher School of Economics and Business, al-Farabi KazNU held the 5th International Student Correspondence Olympiad on the topic: "DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES IN LOGISTICS AND MARKETING" in the specialty "Logistics". The Olympiad in the specialty "Logistics" was held in two stages. To register participants in the V International Student Correspondence Olympiad, universities filled out and sent an application for participants in the prescribed form. In total, 9 applications from 7 universities of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan were submitted for participation in the V International Student Correspondence Olympiad in the specialty "Logistics". According to the results of the answers sent, the teams in the specialty that received the greatest number of points were selected.

The center's direction of activities is as following: teaching and educational activities, the creation of scientific schools and interdisciplinary courses, consulting as well as participation in international grant competitions.
On November 26-27, 2020 Department of "Business Technologies" HSEB al-Farabi KazNU together with Altay State University (Barnaul, Russia), Kazakh-German University (Almaty, Kazakhstan), I.S. Turgenev Orel State University (Orel, Russia). held an international scientific and methodological conference on the topic "Digitalization of the Economy and Education: new technologies in the context of pandemic" within the framework of the international economic forum "Economic Development of the Region: management, innovation, training" in the online format.
On November 20, at 11:00, a guest lecture "Opportunities for post-university work for financiers" was held with the 4th year students of the Specialty "Finance", dedicated to the day of financiers, with the representative of the company "Deloitte" Seydaliev Sh.M. During the lecture, a lot of useful information about the services provided by TSF Deloitte was revealed. In addition, a question-and-answer interview was conducted with students about job opportunities for future financiers in general.
On November 16, at 18:00, an open curatorial hour "Tenge - a symbol of Independence" was held, dedicated to the day of financiers, organized by the F19K1 group of 2nd year students of the Specialty Finance (curator: Zhorabayeva Zh.K.). The event was attended by teachers of the Department "Finance and accounting", students of the 4th year of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
