On March 5, 2020, at the Higher School of Economics and Business of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University a meeting was held with Mr. Assylbek Kozhakhmetov, President, Founder of Almaty Management University (AlmaU), graduate and philanthropist of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Doctor of Business Administration, President of AJE “Civil Alliance of Kazakhstan”. He conducted a master class on “Modern business education: challenges, prospects, trends” for teachers and students at the HSE&B.

The meeting reviewed the overview of international accreditations and global ratings in business education, discussed modern trends and challenges of business education in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the distinctive features of business university and concept of the third mission of university in the XXI century. The participants of the meeting showed a special interest in the experience of introducing such disciplines as “Design of life”, “Service learning” and “Social coworking”. The question of requirements for business school teachers also aroused active discussion.

Summing up the meeting, HSE&B Dean, Doctor of Economics, Professor R.K. Sagiyeva thanked the speaker for informative meeting and expressed readiness for further cooperation.
