It is recalled that one of the main tasks of modern education is the education of a multilingual competitive specialist, capable of dynamically orienting himself in a new linguistic, political, economic and social environment. In this regard, a number of events (olympiads, contests, round tables, seminars, etc.) are held in one of the leading universities of the country - the Kazakh National University, among which the special place is the annual intellectual Olympiad «the best linguist - 2018» which conducted within the framework of the "Young Linguist" club's activity of the Department of General Linguistics and European Languages of KazNU and the Center for Russian Language and Culture at the University (Director, Ph.D. Umatova JM).
