Nauryz holiday was celebrated at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Foreign students of group 22-05 of the 1st year of the Department of Biotechnology also took part in the Nauryz holiday. They came in their national clothes. For example, A.Sukron showed the peculiarities of Indonesian, A.M.Rahimi - Afghan, A.A.Khanzada – Pakistani, M.S.Abubakar – Nigerian national clothes.

They expressed their gratitude by tasting nauryz kozhe, Kazakh national dishes.

The Nauryz holiday was interesting and the students received a special impression.

The celebration of Nauryz, the great day of the nation, was held within the framework of the festive program "New Kazakhstan: values that unite the nation". This holiday was attended by well-known state and public figures, scientists, veterans of the faculty, teachers and students of kaznu. In 2023, the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held a new format for Nauryz, the great day of the nation. As for the features: this year, the guests not only celebrated a Nauryz, fed their bellies, but also organized national games and exhibitions, which were held one by one, glorifying different values. Within the same Exhibitions, The Faculty of Biology and biotechnology also presented a small exhibition. Colorful room flowers were placed in front of the biologists ' yurt, and on the other side were stuffed animals brought from the Museum of Biology, the pride of the Faculty of Biology, an eagle and an eagle. Our small exhibition pleased the guests. Talented students of our faculty played National Instruments and sang songs. Our students from near and far abroad, such as Iran, India, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, showed their skills and took turns dancing. Happy Kazakh nation nauryz holiday. 4th year students of the Department of Biotechnology held an event "Kimeshek - a great symbol of motherhood" during the week of "NATIONAL EDUCATION". Kimeshek is a Kazakh national headdress of married women made of thin white fabric, tightly fitting the head, covering the neck, chest, shoulders and back. Kimesheks of various Kazakh tribes and clans differed in cut, details on the head, length and nature of jewelry. The kimeshek of young women was especially richly decorated with embroidery, colored stitching, braid, as well as coral and pearl beads, silver plaques and other details. The kimeshek was worn after the birth of the first child, before that a married woman wore a saukele or its simpler version, a jelly. Thus, the kimeshek is a great symbol of motherhood. In a house where a woman wears a kimeshek, prosperity, comfort and order always reign.

Honoring the national costume

As part of the celebration of Nauryz Meiramy, employees and students of the Department of Biotechnology of KazNU celebrated the week "Honoring the national costume". For centuries, Kazakh national dress has been distinguished by simplicity and rationality. It was characterized by a generality of forms for all segments of the community, but with a certain social and age regulation. Elegance of clothes was provided by fur trimmings, embroidery, and jewelry. Let's always glorify our traditions, customs, spiritual values, glorifying our national clothes. May Nauryz bring blessings and peace! Let there be much bright (milk)!

On March 13, 2023 at 14.00 in 415 room. 3rd year students of the BT20-02 group of specialty "6B070103 - Biotechnology" of the Department of Biotechnology of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology held a curatorial hour on the topic "Folk culture and folk suits of Kazakhs"

The purpose of the event: To study the history of the origin of Kazakh national suits, familiarization with Kazakh culture and history, develop of patriotic feelings.

  The students prepared a presentation dedicated to the history of the origin of Kazakh national costumes in different periods, as a visual projection of all aspects of the social, material, technical level of development of society.

Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, Department of Biodiversity and Bioresources, 1st year doctoral students  On March 2, we held an online educational event dedicated to the spring holiday and International Women's Day on March 8. Educational lesson "Мен қазақ қыздарына қайран қалам" was dedicated to our dear mothers, grandmothers. The events addressed the issues of educating Kazakh girls today, how a modern Kazakh girl should look, hair care, face care. The main attention was paid to the upbringing of the Kazakh girl. The event was attended by methodologists of the faculty, teachers of the department, teachers of the department of pedagogy, doctoral students and students. Also, during the event, issues of how a modern Kazakh girl should look like were discussed. The educational event was held at a very high level.
