Казахский национальный университет им. аль-Фараби занял первое место в генеральном рейтинге многопрофильных университетов Казахстана 2010г., вновь подтвердив свой неизменный статус лидера на рынке образовательных услуг страны. Рейтинговая оценка проводилась Независимым казахстанским агентством по обеспечению качества в образовании (НКАОКО) по 6 критериям и 36 индикаторам, а также путем опроса экспертов, работодателей и государственных органов. Результаты рейтинга в очередной раз продемонстрировали, что КазНУ является не только ведущим классическим университетом Казахстана, но и национальным лидером в процессе инновационного развития высшего профессионального, послевузовского образования и науки. По итогам опубликованного ранее рейтинга высших учебных заведений Республики Казахстан, наиболее успешно реализующих образовательные программы по специальностям бакалавриата, КазНУ также занял бесспорное первое место: 29 образовательных программ университета были признаны лучшими в рейтинге.

KazNU is justly considered the leading elite university of Kazakhstan and Central Asia. Diplomas issued by KazNU are considered prestigious and are recognized worldwide not only because of the excellent quality of education, but also because KazNU has gained the ASIIN international accreditation in certain disciplines.
Since June, 21 solemn diploma award ceremonies for graduates of Bachelor, Master and PhD degree are being held at KazNU. Many of the graduates have already received employment invitations from various major national and international companies while they were studying in their third year. The best graduates continue their studies at Master's and PhD level according to new curricula, which have been discussed with the leading universities of the UK, USA, Germany, Russia, Japan, Korea and other countries.
Al-Farabi KazNU has the largest campus in Kazakhstan with a total area of 100 hectares, which is situated in the most pictoresque place of the city of Almaty. The campus consists of 13 educational buildings equipped with scientific labs, 13 reading rooms for up to 4000 seats and a fundamental library. Students are provided with 13 student dorms, a students' canteen and an Internet center, which are the largest in Kazakhstan.
Students can lead their cultural life and spend their leisure time in one of the most magnificent concert halls of Almaty – U.A. Dzholdasbekov students' Palace; the university also has its own cinema and a separate sports' complex with a stadium.

The national accreditation center of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan (MES RK) has published the results of the nationwide rating of higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which mostly successfully implement undergraduate educational programs in 2010.
As a result, al-Farabi Kazakh National University has again confirmed its status of the leading university of the Republic, having ranked first in 29 educational programs.

В КазНУ им. аль-Фараби созданы и действуют Национальная нанотехнологическая лаборатория открытого типа (ННЛОТ) и Нанотехнологическая лаборатория инженерного профиля (НЛИП).
Ученые ННЛОТ и НЛИП КазНУ им. аль-Фараби совместно с крупнейшими исследовательскими центрами Белоруссии, Германии, России, США и других зарубежных стран ведут научные разработки по приоритетным направлениям, в частности в области исследования наноразмерных объектов и наноструктурированных материалов.

Лаборатория математического моделирования процессов в плазме Института экспериментальной и теоретической физики КазНУ им. аль-Фараби является ведущим национальным центром исследования физических процессов в плазме. Научные результаты, получаемые в лаборатории, имеют важные применения при изучении управляемого термоядерного синтеза и исследовании астрофизических объектов и разработке промышленных нанотехнологических процессов. В 2005 году сотрудниками лаборатории впервые в Казахстане был получен и экспериментально исследован уникальный физический объект – плазменный пылевой кристалл. Кроме этого, в лаборатории проводятся работы по исследованию свойств многокомпонентной пылевой плазмы. Лаборатория является активным участником серии экспериментов по изучению свойств пылевой плазмы, проводимых на Международной Космической Станции.
PR-мост через океан
Ведущие казахстанские пиарщики примут участие в ежегодной конвенции Национальной коммуникативной ассоциации (NCA) Соединенных Штатов Америки «Возводя мосты»-2010, которая состоится в ноябре текущего года в Сан-Франциско (Калифорния, США).
Для казахстанских пиарщиков предстоящая конвенция NCA важна еще и потому, что, начиная с нынешнего года, в Казахстане после пятилетнего перерыва снова открылась специальность «связь с общественностью». Таким образом, консолидация теоретиков и практиков отечественного PR-сообщества и возведение деловых мостов между пиарщиками Казахстана и специалистами разных стран, будут способствовать дальнейшему развитию PR-образования и отрасли в целом.
