On 30.04.2021, an online meeting was held by Academician of KazNAEN, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Zhubanova Azhar Akhmetovna, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on the topic " Tauelsizdik-el tugyry!".
During the online meeting, students of the Department of Biotechnology of the 4th year held a conversation with Zhubanova Azhar Akhmetovna.
The main purpose of the meeting: to introduce the achievements of our country for 30 years of independence, to expand knowledge, and also to explain that in order to love the Motherland, to protect its wealth, to ensure the future prosperity of our motherland Kazakhstan, we need knowledgeable and competent, versatile young students.

4/9/2021April 7 at the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology KazNU named after Al-Farabi hosted the International Conference of Students and Young Scientists "Farabi Alemi". At the opening of the conference spoke the dean of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zayadan Bolatkhan Kazykhanovich. Then the reports were heard in sections. Section on modern problems of biotechnology chairman: candidate of biological sciences, associate professor Kistaubaeva Aida Serikovna, and the moderators of the section were: doctor of biological sciences, professor Aytasheva Zaure Gainutdinovna, doctor of biological sciences, professor Karpenyuk Tatyana Anatolyevna. Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Zhumabayeva Beibitkul Akimalievna, Cand. Biol. Sciences, associate professor Zhunusbaeva Zhazira Kabulovna, doctor of biological sciences, professor Mukasheva Togzhan Dzhangeldinovna. In total, 14 students made presentations, of which the following students won prizes: I place, Angelina Gisbrecht (IV year); II place, Shukurbek Madina (IV course), Kamalbaeva Dinara (IV course); III place, Amina Raidinova (IV course), Sarsenbek Balausa (IV course); Myrzakhmetova Gulnaz (IV course).

AN ONLINE CAREER GUIDANCE EVENT WAS HELD
4/8/2021On April 08, the Department of Biotechnology organized and conducted an online career guidance event for 2- and 3-year students enrolled in the Biotechnology educational program. At the event, the head of the department A.S. Kistaubayeva was shown a presentation material, where she acquainted students with the teaching staff, scientific activities of the department. The Department of Biotechnology is one of the leaders in training specialists in the field of biotechnology of microorganisms and plants, nanotechnology, biochemistry, plant ecophysiology, bioinformatics and biomedicine.
Further, the faculty of the department made short reports, where they gave more detailed information about the area of their scientific interest, areas of research and achievements.
The meeting continued in the Q&A format, during which students were able to get answers to all their questions.

4/3/2021Gaukhar KONUSPAYEVA, Professor of Food Technology at Al Farabi National University of Almaty, will be hosted at UMR Selmet at the Baillarguet premises for a 10-month stay from April 06, 2021 as a "Visiting Scientist". This stay is supported by a grant from the "Mak'it" program of MUSE. The stay will focus on “Camel milk technology and markets: a new frontier for sustainable food systems in the 21st century”. Several activities are planned which include the organization of an international workshop on the camel milk trade in October 2021. Manips on the transformation and characterization of camel milk are also scheduled in partnership with UMR Qualisud and IATE.
