Maya Khazhetdinovna Shygaeva was born on January 21, 1927 in the city of Astrakhan.
After graduating from the Alma-Ata State Medical Institute in 1949; later renamed the Institute of Microbiology and Virology. In this institute, he worked from a post-graduate student to the deputy director of the Institute for Scientific work.
On December 30, 1971, he was appointed to the Department of Microbiology, which was organized in October. At this department for 28 years continuously worked as the head of the department.
He has trained 5 doctors of Science, 41 candidates of Science, who worked in higher educational institutions and scientific institutions of Kazakhstan in current areas of microbiology (physiology, genetics, ecology).
Professor Shygaeva M. Kh. is the author of about 400 scientific works, including 10 monographs, 2 brochures, 50 copyright certificates, preliminary patents and patents, awarded the “Inventor of the USSR " badge. He was a member of the Presidium of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Currently he is a member of 2 special dissertation councils, a member of the Bureau of biological research Department of the President of the Academy of Sciences of RK, a member of the Academic Council of KazNU.Al-Farabi.
M. Kh. Shygaeva's scientific, pedagogical and public work is highly appreciated by the state. He was awarded the diploma of the Supreme Soviet of the Kazakh SSR, the Orders of "Friendship of Peoples” and "Parasat", the medals "to the 100th anniversary of V. I. Lenin” and "veteran of labor". His name is listed in the Golden Book of Kazakhstan. For contribution to the development of the University awarded by the Ministry of higher and secondary special education “for outstanding achievements in work” and a sign of the Ministry of education and science of Kazakhstan “excellence in education”. In 2000, the Institute of Biology (USA) was awarded the title “wife of the year 2000". In 2008, he was awarded the medal "10 years of Astana". In 2009, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, he was awarded a special medal "Ulken Altyn Belgi"for his great contribution to science and education.
Today, Maya Khazhetdinov would have turned 94 years old, and his vivid image will always be kept in the memory of scientists, students, and children who follow the path of science. Let it be cozy, Great Teacher!
