At the initiative of the Faculty of Journalism of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, a project has been developed to publish a Central Asian textbook on data collection for journalistic investigations. The project was supported by the UNESCO Cluster Office in Almaty with the aim of strengthening the sustainable development of journalism education. In the context of a pandemic in the media sphere of the Central Asian republics, both distinctive features in the activities of the media and general aspects of a global nature are observed. The latter include the problems of gender discrimination, a decline in the quality of education, corruption, an unsatisfactory state of medicine, and others.

Radio "Al-Farabi" is a student radio station at the Kazakh National University. The Young Radio Journalists' Club now has a large number of students, even in the midst of the pandemic, who broadcast online. Most of them are first year students, and now some are sophomores. Radio "Al-Farabi" broadcasting of KazNU news is the main product of the circle of radio journalists. The creative director of the radio is Klara Kabylgazina, the sound engineer is Bakhyt Amirbek.

With support of the TV Channel "Qazaqstan" and "Kazakh Radiosy" on January 27, 2021 at 11.00 in the auditorium named after E. Shaimerdenov of the Faculty of Journalism of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, an online conference "Creativity of Sapar Baizhanov - a national personality" will be held. The event is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of a state and public figure, writer and publicist.

On January 20, 2021 at 12.00, a online presentation of the books - Russian Practices of Governance in Eurasia. Frontier Power Dynamics, 16th-19th Century (London: Routledge, 2020)   by Professor Gulnar Kendirbay of Columbia University (New York, USA) will take place, a special exhibition of the scientist's works will also be organized Al-Farabi Kazakh National University with the support of non-profit Joint Stock Company "Otandastar Foundation"

The Al-Farabi Center has opened at the University of Tsukuba, a world-class center for education and research. This is one of the events dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of the great scientist al-Farabi, organized under the auspices of the international organization UNESCO [2]. The new center will serve as a representative office of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Khabar 24 reports.
