This is because there is an acute shortage of highly qualified specialists, because very often university graduates are not able to use the acquired knowledge in practice. To solve this problem, it is necessary, among other things, to integrate education and science. On April 15, 2022, the staff of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics visited the Institute of Genetics and Physiology to discuss the integration of science and education within the framework of the General Agreement between al-Farabi KazNU and research institutes subordinate to the SC MES RK. The Institute of Genetics and Physiology is a long-term partner and base of practice for students of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics.

On April 13, 2022 the staff of the M. Aitkhozhin Institute of molecular biology and biochemistry held a meeting with the students and teachers of the biology and biotechnology faculty of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The dean of the Biology and biotechnology faculty, Academician of the National academy of sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Zayadan Bolatkhan Kazykhanuly, delivered a welcoming speech.

Ismagulova Gulnara Akimzhanovna, Deputy general director of IMBB, Ph.D. made a presentation about the history, laboratories and main directions of scientific research at IMBB.

As part of the program for the integration of research institutes with universities, initiated by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on April 5, 2022, a meeting was held between employees of the Institute of Plant Biology and Biotechnology (IPBB), headed by the director, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Zhambakin K.Zh. with students of al-Farabi KazNU.

2nd year students of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, specializing in the educational program "6B050103 Biotechnology-NIS" under the guidance of Associate Professor of the Department of Biotechnology, Ph.D. Turasheva S.K. visited laboratories and got acquainted with the activities of scientists of the institute. 

The material provided during the curatorial lesson was dedicated to such a great man as Mukhtar Auezov. He is a great man for the country, a writer who revealed all the events in Kazakhstan through his works. Rather, we refreshed our memory, recalled his early years and his biography in general. 

On March 4, 2022, 3rd year students of the groups BT 1903k, BT 1901k specialty "6B050103-Biotechnology" organized a festive concert and video greetings dedicated to the celebration of Women's Day on March 8. On behalf of the students-biotechnologists, congratulatory words were sounded to women's team of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology and words of gratitude to the Teachers of the faculty.
