Dear teachers, PhD-students, undergraduates, master's and undergraduate students, and all who are interested in neuroscience! We are glad to announce that within the framework of the state program of invitation of foreign scientists, the al-Farabi Kazakh National University will host a training course "Neuroimaging: modern approaches and practices" from November 15 to December 15, 2021.

Author and lecturer of the course - PhD, head of the Sector for Psychodiagnostics, Brain Stimulation and Functional MRI of the Laboratory of Affective, Cognitive and Translational Neuroscience of the Research Institute of Neuroscience and Medicine (Novosibirsk, RF), lecturer of special courses in neuroscience Department of Fundamental and Applied Linguistics of the Humanities Institute of NSU, editor-reviewer of scientific journals Behavioral Neuroscience Archive, Individual and Social Behaviors, Frontiers in Behavioral Neuroscience Ivan Viktorovich Brak.

Classes will be held daily from Monday to Friday from 14.30 to 16.30-18.30 in classrooms and / or laboratories 431, 214, 427, 436 of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of al-Farabi KazNU. Everyone is welcome, admission is free.

International scientific and practical conference «The 5th Symposium on EuroAsian Biodiversity (SEAB-2021)»

International scientific and practical conference «The 5th Symposium on EuroAsian Biodiversity (SEAB-2021)»  was held from July 1 to July 3 in a hybrid format (online and offline, at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in the building of the Al-Farabi Library) and online in Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University  (Turkey) .

This international conference has been attended to date by 153 participants from 4 Continents such as Asia, Europe, America and Australia.

During the preparation of this event, more than 150 applications for participation were received, on the basis of which a compilation of theses with a volume of 292 pages was published for the opening, including 53 poster and 77 oral reports from 21 countries — Kazakhstan, Turkey, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Austria, Germany, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Poland, Russia, Vietnam, Latvia, Australia, Pakistan, China, Japan, Hungary, Spain and USA.

The plenary session of the conference was held in two stages. In the first part of the plenary session, 5 reports were presented by scientists who made a huge contribution to the study of the problem of biodiversity conservation on the planet:

  6. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Maria Cristina Mangano - Lecturer of Management of Aquatic Resources: Marine Sciences, University of Milano-Bicocca, Italy

The wide geography of the participants confirms the relevance of the topic of the conference and the issues considered within its framework. This conference allowed to take stock of the issues of conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity in the world on a wide range of issues united in 4 sections.

Studies of key plant and animal species allow scientists to draw conclusions about the state of the ecosystem as a whole, assess the impact of climate warming and anthropogenic pollution on fragile nature. Some data which are presented on the impact of human activity on biodiversity can be taken into account when planning economic activities and developing new innovative solutions for doing socially responsible business around the world.

The organizers of the conference express special gratitude to all participants of the plenary session for the provided relevant and interesting reports and  express deep gratitude to the heads of organizations and their divisions who delegated their representatives to participate in the conference and special gratitude to each participant who found the opportunity to participate in the oral, poster session and absentee participation in the conference during a pandemic.

FIRST ONLINE EURASIAN MODEL OIC CONFERENCE!

The teacher of zoology and PhD-student of the Department of Biodiversity and Bioresources, and The Junior Researcher at Institute of Zoology, Nazerke Bizhanova, participated in the 4th Executive Model OIC (Organisation of Islamic Cooperation). The Model OIC included the lectures and seminars, international simulation conference and ended with an official Closing Ceremony.

Over 100 young representatives from more than 30 countries participated in the 5-day seminars international simulation conference of the 4th Executive Model OIC under the topic: “The Importance of International Cooperation to achieve Regional Development and Security”. The Ambassadors to Azerbaijan from the OIC member states – Palestine, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Morocco, and Algeria, as well as Mr. Elmaddin Mehdiyev, Director General of the Eurasian Regional Center of ICYF (ICYF-ERC), H.E. Mr. Farhad Hajiyev, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and many other international scholars, participated in the online lectures and the conference of the project and discussed important issues such as national development, international cooperation, sustainable development and ecological issues. During the lectures, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan, H.E. Mr. Serzhan Abdykarimov, talked about the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence, telling about the endeavours we made throughout the years and how far we have come, making our present day the era of progress and sustainable development for our country.

The project was organized by ICYF-ERC in partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Azerbaijan (https://icyf-erc.org/, https://www.facebook.com/icyferc/ and www.mys.gov.az).

Nazerke Bizhanova, as well as five other participants were awarded for their outstanding performance during the project.
