SEMINAR ISESCO FOR TEACHERS OF THE ARABIC LANGUAGE AND THE ISLAMIC EDUCATION
International organization ISESCO with the collaboration of the charity organization “IICO” (Kuwait) held a seminar for teachers of the Arabic language and the Islamic education on the basis of the Arabic philology department of Oriental Studies faculty of KazNU named after al-Farabi from 27 till 29 of October.
It should be said that ISESCO organizes training seminars for teachers of the Arabic language in the states-members of this organization, publishes Arabic language and the Islamic education text-books for foreigners, and renders the methodical help in perfection of the methods of teaching Arabic language. The main goal of this seminar is to raise the qualification of teachers of the Arabic language and literature, to acquaint the seminar’s participants with modern pedagogical theories and psychology of teaching, and also to improve professional skills of the seminar’s participants. 30 teachers of the Arabic language, literature, history and culture from different universities and schools of our republic took part in this seminar. Among them teachers from KazNU named after al-Farabi, ANU named after Abai, Kazakh National University of the International Relationships and World languages named after Ablai khan, Islamic University Nur-Mubarak, University named after Korkyt Ata in Kyzyl Orda city, boarding schools for talented children in Almaty and Karagandy cities.
In 1998 ISESCO held its first seminar on the base of our university. In 2000 on the base of ANU the second seminar was held. In 2004 with the collaboration of the local experts TokovaG.K. and AbdrakhmanovaG. the third seminar on the base of KazNU was held by ISESCO.
And in this year Arabic philology department of Oriental Studies faculty of KazNU named after al-Farabi was chosen as the base for the fourth seminar of ISESCO by the national work commission of ISESCO and UNESCO.
The seminar was held on the 27 of October 2009 at 10 a.m. in the conference-hall named after al-Farabi On its opening the adviser of Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Zakieva Zhanat Kesharimovna, the member of the national work commission of ISESCO and UNESCO, the representative of the first pro-rector of the KazNU – Kairat Zhunis were presented. In that day the participants of the seminar filled the questionnaires which were specially prepared by ISESCO to define interests and knowledge level of the participants for the further seminar work. During seminar work foreign expert of regional ISESCO office from Teheran Mr. Hassan Fartousi and local experts Abdul Aziz al-Khuli and TokovaG.K. gave a number of lectures on such themes as “Islamic education”, “Phonetics of Arabic language”, “Psychological relationships between teacher and student”, “The role of Arabic language in Islamic society”, also participants gave demonstrative Arabic lessons.
At the end of the seminar certificates of ISESCO were presented to every participant and local expert. Students of the Arabic department performed with the concert item before the seminar’s guests. After the seminar‘s closing the solemn dinner was organized.
Also suggestions and recommendations in written form were presented to the doctor Hassan Fartousi. It must be said that the foreign expert was satisfied by the organization of seminar’s work and expressed hope to continue this collaboration.
