On September 20th, 2011 at the Department of Korean and Japanese Studies of Oriental studies faculty at KazNU named after Al-Farabi was a competition for the best poetry reading in Japanese and Korean languages within the week "Festival of Languages​​."
Opening Ceremony began with a speech by the head of the department of Korean and Japanese Studies L.T. Balakayeva. Further, all members and guests listened to an entertaining and important lecture for our multinational country by the representative of the Korean community, the doctor of historical sciences, Professor Men Dmitriy Volbonovich about the role, status and language learning of every nationality who are not in their historical homeland.


After, there was a culmination of the event. 15 students of Korean and Japanese branches made a performances, from which were chosen the winners for each 1, 2, 3 place. To choose the best readers of the event was made with the help of Competition Commission consists of the teacher of Korean Branch Chan Beng Sun, and the representative of the Japan Association in Kazakhstan Maiko Insan. The winners were awarded prizes.

1st place - Nurpeisova Meruyert, 2course, foreign philology

2nd place - Nurgaliyeva Nurgul, 2 course foreign philology

3rd place – Abdualiyeva Elmira, 2 course, faculty of translation

Encouraging prizes were awarded to Myktybayeva Aigerim (3 course foreign philology ), Bekmukhambetova Gulzhan (3 course foreign philology ), Musabekova Aktoty (3 course foreign philology ), Bichuinova Zhibek (3 course foreign philology ), Akhmetzhanova Aygerim (2 course foreign philology), Suienbekova Aynur (2 course foreign philology ), Kuttibay Meruyert (2 course foreign philology ) and Abdykhamitova Aygerim (1 course foreign philology ).
