l-Farabi Kazakh National University and «Kazakh Radio» LLP have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation that determined the main areas of joint activity. The event was attended by Rector of KazNU Galym Mutanov, the General Director of «Kazakh Radiolary» LLP Yernur Kosherkhan, the producer of «Kazakh Radiolary» LLP Mukhamedyar Rashai, the head of the «Qazaq Radiosy» Almaty studio Bakhyt Zhagiparovich Kutpanbev, the Dean of the Faculty of Journalism Sagatbek Medeubek and others.
The section entitled «New Information and Educational Technologies in the Educational Process» has started its work at the Faculty of Journalism in the framework of the 50th international scientific-methodological conference «Modern Interpretation of the Pedagogical Concept of Al-Farabi in the Context of Digitalization of Education», which was held at KazNU.
On the initiative of the Kazakh National University and UNESCO in Kazakhstan, the 7th International Winter School of Journalism and Communication dedicated to World Radio Day and the celebration of the anniversary of the 1150th anniversary of Abu Nasr al-Farabi was held on February 13-15, 2020.
Recently, at the Faculty of Journalism, within the framework of the discipline “Creative workshop of a publicist”, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Rimma Zhaksilikbayeva together with the 3rd year students held the master class entitled "Connoisseurs of Kazakh journalism". During the lecture, students of 4 groups showed their performances on the work of individual publicists, and also showed publicist writings and editorial skills, civic identity of Kazakh journalists.
A group of teachers, undergraduates and students of the department took part in the International Scientific Conference "Europe in the 21st Century" in the city of Slubice, Poland. This year, an authoritative scientific meeting was held for the 20th time.
International conference "Contemporary National Press: Problems and Prospects", dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the periodical press department, was held at the Zhusip Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University (KNU) in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek. The conference was led by Associate Professor of Journalism Department of KNU, Doctor of Philosophy A. Khalilov. The conference was attended by deputies of the Jogory Kenesh of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, at which Professor Klara Kabylgazina and Ph.D. candidates Neila Rushanova and Aitolkyn Ashimova spoke from the faculty of journalism of KazNU. They made presentations about the current situation in Kazakh mass media.
"Kazakh Universiteti" publishing house has published the book by scientists of al-Farabi Kazakh National University Akhmetova L. S., Verevkin A.V., Lifanova T.Y. . "Media and information literacy among youth in the sphere of ensuring national security".
The principles of gender equality are actively implemented in Kazakhstan. UNESCO Chair in Journalism and Communication, KazNU Al-Farabi, in partnership with the International Program for the Development of Communications of UNESCO and the United Nations Entity UN-Women, performs a set of tasks aimed at enhancing the competencies of journalists, press officers, and new media users in the field of supporting gender stability.
The meeting of round table named as “Kazakh publishing: past and future” was in the conference room № 230 on 31st October 2019. This meeting was organized by department of publishing-editing and art of journalism faculty. During the discussion it was raised a question related to the 100th anniversary of the founding of the first Kazakh publishing house “Kazmembas”.
