Elsevier is the largest scholarly publishing house in the world. Its branches operate in the UK, USA, Brazil, and others. Elsevier provides access to scientific articles for approximately 4500 organizations and universities in 180 countries, provides information analysis solutions and digital tools in the field of strategic research management, R&D results, and professional education.

The 3rd International Conference Elsevier Science Day in Kazakhstan on 2-3 December 2020 was held online. The forum for two days riveted the attention of young scientists, including those from the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

Galia Toremuratova, Marina Buravova and Jamilya Bektiyarova, master students of the Department of Publishing and Design, Faculty of Journalism, accept congratulations on the acquisition of prestigious Conference certificates. Girls, despite certain difficulties in connection with the pandemic, are systematically engaged in science. So, in October 2020, they successfully delivered reports at the International Conference in Dushanbe (Tajikistan). The rational organization and planning of scientific research / such a course is included in their educational program / allows them to be in good shape and process a lot of data from different information platforms.

Their feedback on the content and format of the Elsevier event characterizes the real benefits of such discourses. 

“At the moment, there are a lot of resources for writing scientific methods, this was discussed at a seminar of experts from the publishing house of the European Union, information was given on what opportunities and prospects there are for young researchers during a pandemic. Topical issue "Educational content on Science Direct for distance learning" was revealed by Helena Paczuska, eBooks manager at Elsevier. The topic “International Cooperation, THE and QS Ranking: SciVal Solutions” was covered by Dmitry Sultanov, Analytical Solutions Manager at Elsevier. The skills of orientation in the information field of the Elsevier platform were also recounted by other speakers,” says Galiya Toremuratova, 1st year master student of the specialty “Design ”.

Master students Marina Buravova (2nd year, Publishing) and Jamilya Bektemirova (1st year, Design) are pleased with the participation in the conference. Of course, such events encourage young scientists to publish their scientific materials in foreign publishing houses. The main conclusion: if you follow the correct algorithm, follow the recommendations of the mentors, then on the part of future young specialists of the Republic of Kazakhstan, interest in the study of the facets of the chosen professions, for the scientific disclosure of the potential of the national values ​​of the Art of Book and Design, and all other areas of postgraduate training will increase.
