Today, April 23, 2021 at 11.00 in the auditorium named after E. Shaimerdenov (214) of the Faculty of Journalism of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, within the framework of the IX Qozhakeev readings, a scientific and practical online conference "TEMIRBEK QOZHAKEEV AND THE MODERN SATIRIC WORD OF KAZAKHSTAN" was held. Dean of the Faculty of Journalism Sagatbek Medeubekuly made an introductory speech, who then gave the floor to the satirist, laureate of the International Literary Prize "Alash" Kopen Amirbek.

On April 15^th, 2021 at 11.00 in the auditorium named after E. Shaimerdenov (214) of the Faculty of Journalism of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University within the framework of the 180^th anniversary of photography in Kazakhstan, an international scientific and practical online conference "NATIONAL PHOTO ART: HISTORY AND DEVELOPMENT" was held, dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the teacher, photojournalist Asylkhan Abdraimuly. As part of the conference, a book dedicated to the work of Asylkhan Abdraimuly was presented and a photo exhibition was solemnly opened.

Another international "Battle of Journalism Faculties" has come to an end, which has gathered journalist students from several CIS countries in Kaliningrad.

Berikbol Tolegen became the winner of the project competition "Student Business Incubator-2021".

On April 7, the UNESCO Chair on Journalism and Communicationorganized and held the V International Scientific and Practical Conference“Models of Teaching International Journalism for Sustainable Development”(MTIJ).

Global climate change and local environmental problems became the main educational trajectory of the five-day course for journalists. More than fifty media professionals have improved their environmental knowledge by listening to lectures for journalists specializing in the environmental field.

The International Scientific and Practical Online Conference "New Media Landscape of the XXI Century" was held at the Faculty of Journalism of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, dedicated to the memory of the founder of television and radio journalism in Kazakhstan, Professor Marat Karibayevich Barmankulov, who laid the foundations of the scientific school of journalism in Kazakhstan and made a significant contribution to the development of national television and radio broadcasting and was a mentor for many generations of Kazakhstani journalists.

On March 2, 2021, a round table "The role of youth within the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals in the Decade of Action" was held at KazNU named after al-Farabi. Representatives of the UNESCO Chair, International Journalism and Public Relations Professor, Doctor of Political Science, Honorary Director of the UNAI Global Hub for Sustainability Galiya Ibraeva, Professor, Doctor of Philology, Head of the Department. Nazgul Shyngysova took part in the event.

On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the outstanding Kazakh poet Mukagali Makatayev, the team of "Kazakh Radiolary" LLP handed over the challenge to the Faculty of Journalism of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. 

The traditional winter media school carried out its work online. Timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of "Qazaq Radiosy" and World Radio Day, the VIII Winter School of International Journalism and Communication on the theme "Accessible Radio to Every Resident and the Whole Population: Fighting the COVID-19 Pandemic" is an international event that united seven countries of the world.
