The Faculty of Journalism of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted an international scientific online conference "Publishing and the Literary process: writer, editor, reader", dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the talented writer, poet, scientist and journalist Nurzhan Kuantayev.

Nurzhan Kuantayev – poet and writer, came to the literature with its unique style of writing. Back in the late 90's  literary critics has admired him for his brilliant talent.

"He is a very creative person and a truly genuine talent," said Amangeldy Kenshilikuly, a well-known critic, winner of the International Literary Award "Alash".

For the anniversary of N.Kuantaiuly, a congratulatory letter was sent by the Secretary of State of the Republic of Kazakhstan Krymbek Kusherbayev, and the university administration awarded him the medal "Eren enbegi ushin" and wished him success.

During the conference the Chairman of the Union of Writers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, U.Esdaulet, Deputy Akim of the Turkestan region M.Otarbayev, a guest from Turkey-Yakup Omeroglu and Gulnar Kenderbay from Columbia University, USA gave a speech and extended their best wishes.

"The guests jokingly suggested: report in your 50! – so, this meeting began by looking like a report. After all, it is true that 50 years is an important milestone in a person's life," said the poet.

Even as a student, the first novel of the young writer "Kara Ozek" was unanimously accepted by the writers community. Today, Nurzhan Kuantayev not only writes prose and poetry and is engaged in science, but also educates talented students at the university.
