The Department of Epidemiology and Hygiene of the Medical Faculty plans to conduct sanitary and educational work among the population of Almaty city on March 19 as part of the World Tuberculosis Day.
Department of Biostatistics and Evidence-Based Medicine from March 13 to 23, 2018, was organized for undergraduates of the specialty "Public Health" a scientific internship, who study at the Medical Faculty –KazNU named after al-Farabi. The internship was held on the basis of the Faculty of Fundamental Medicine of Moscow State University named after M. Lomonosov. Lomonosov under the program "Scientific Research in Medicine". In total, 11 undergraduates were trained.
The Department of Biomedical Statistics and Evidence-Based Medicine, the Faculty of Medicine of the Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi (http://www.kaznu.kz/en/17421/nodeblock), organized a meeting with the Dean, College of Asia Pacific Studies of Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (Beppu, Japan) - Todoroki Hiroshi and Professor of Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University - Serik Meirmanov.

Glaucoma is a disease in which the intraocular pressure rises. Because of this, vision deteriorates, the field of vision narrows and atrophy of the optic nerve develops.
Predisposition to glaucoma can be inherited.
World Kidney Day was first celebrated in March, 2006. Since then World Kidney Day is observed annually on the 2nd Thursday in March. Establishment, organization and annual holding of this event was the result of joint efforts of the International Society of Nephrology and the International Federation of Renal Fonds. The main goal of the Kidney Day is to attract the attention of international and state organizations to the problem of growing number of people with kidney diseases. Among the objectives of the Day is also the practice exchange in medicine, the development of systems for the prevention of kidney diseases, the quality of patient care improvement, new drugs and medical devices development for the nephrologic diseases treatment. According to WHO, the number of patients with diseases of the renal system is about 10% of the world's population, and this figure is growing unfortunately. There are several simple ways to reduce the risk of kidney disease. At the Faculty of Medicine, World Kidney Day was solemnized by students' reports on the prevention of kidney diseases, kidney diseases symptoms awareness in the early and late stages, people at potential risk, factors of improving the quality of life.
