In December 2015, by the decision of the al-Farabi Kazakh National University Academic Council a new - medical faculty - Higher school of public health (HSE) opened its doors.
On the basis of international standards and new scientific achievements, the University plans to train medical personnel at all levels of educational programs - bachelor's, master's, residency, doctoral. Additional professional education is also provided for business representatives and specialists in various fields and sectors involved in the development, promotion and implementation of health improvement and preservation programs.
The Higher School of Public Health has become the fifteenth faculty of the KazNU. The educational programs of the HSPH are based on the curricula of medical faculties of leading South Korean universities, since South Korea is a leader in the world in the field of health care. The main partners of KazNU in the development of medical direction are Seoul University and Jens University, which are among the three best universities in South Korea and the top leading universities in Asia and the world.
As part of the international agreements signed between the universities, Korean scientists will take an active part in the program of training of medical personnel. Foreign professors will give lectures and master classes on the use of new technologies and innovations in the field of health care and medical administration. Kazakh teachers and students are given the opportunity to improve their skills and undergo scientific training and practice on the basis of foreign medical departments and laboratories. Within the framework of international cooperation, KazNU has already started training future specialists in master's and doctoral studies at South Korean universities and implementing joint research projects on topical issues of medicine and public health.
