Events dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University have begun. Among the first such events is the modernization and modernization of the city scientific seminar at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics “Modern Problems of Applied and Computational Mathematics”. Where the leaders of the seminar were Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ph.D., Professor B.T. From January 8 to 13, 2024, an online master class and the final meeting of the project consortium for partner countries to discuss the implementation of the GEOCLIC project were held within the framework of the Erasmus+ project«619011-EPP-2020-1-KZ-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP «New Courses in Geospatial Engineering for Climate Change Adaptation of Coastal Ecosystems» (GEOCLIC)+

The contest "The best teacher of the university - 2023" has been completed, according to the results of which 32 teachers of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University were among the winners.

About 350 young scientists work at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. 10 young scientists recognized as the best in science in 2023. One of them was PhD, senior lecturer at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics Kudaibergenov A. K.

From December 4, 2023, Dr. Mohanraj Murugesan, a Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Hindusthan College of Engineering and Technology in India, will be delivering lectures on the topic "Different Applications of Compression Heat Pumps". This invitation comes at the request of Acting Professor Yerzhan Belyayev from the Department of Mechanics.

The results of the “Best Researcher” award for 2023 have been summed up. The winners were 50 scientists from research institutes, universities and scientific departments of organizations, each of whom will receive a certificate and a prize in the amount of 2000 MCI.

Another scientific journal “Bulletin of KazNU. Series of Mathematics, Mechanics and Computer Science” of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is included in the Scopus scientometric database. 

Presentation of the “Kurmet Yesi” award. December 13, 2023 at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of KazNU named after. Al-Farabi, the Department of Computational Sciences and Statistics and the republican family magazine “Egilik” organized a presentation of the Collection of personalities “Kurmet-4”. in accordance with paragraph 11.2 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). - the award ceremony took place.

The Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, in accordance with paragraph 3 – “Healthy lifestyle and well-being” of the TIMES HIGHER EDUCATION IMPACT RANKINGS (17 SDGs), organized a lecture on the topic “HIV: Facts, myths and prevention” for 3rd year students of the faculty and supervisors.

On November 21, 2023, together with 50 students of the 1st-2nd year of the specialty "Mathematics", we went to the Kazakh State Academic Children's and Youth Theater named after Gabit Musirepov and watched a play based on the work of Sayyn Muratbekov "Zhusan isi".
