A professor from India gives lectures to students of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics

     From December 4, 2023, Dr. Mohanraj Murugesan, a Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Hindusthan College of Engineering and Technology in India, will be delivering lectures on the topic "Different Applications of Compression Heat Pumps". This invitation comes at the request of Acting Professor Yerzhan Belyayev from the Department of Mechanics.

     Professor Mohanraj was invited to Farabi University as part of the state program “Attracting Foreign Scientists” to give lectures to bachelors, masters and doctoral students of the university.

                    

    Professor Mohanraj Murugesan is a distinguished expert in the fields of Renewable Energy, HVAC, Thermodynamics, Heat and Mass Transfer, Automotive Engineering, and Materials Engineering. According to Stanford University's analysis in 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022, Professor Mohanraj is ranked among the top 2% of scientists worldwide in the field of Energy Engineering. He serves as a reviewer for 26 international journals with a high impact factor and has authored more than 115 publications in Scopus, with an h-index of 33. Furthermore, Professor Mohanraj acts as a foreign supervisor for Ph.D. fellow Dynmukhambet Baimbetov, who successfully completed the full course of the doctoral program in 2021 and is currently working on the topic "Solar Thermal Seawater Desalination."

                 

    In collaboration with Kazakh scientists, led by Acting Professor Yerzhan Belyayev from the Department of Mechanics, Professor Mohanraj has participated in more than five research projects. Currently, they are jointly conducting two projects and have published over 10 scientific papers in journals with a high impact factor. Additionally, they have secured more than three patents for inventions in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

     The lectures will last until December 26.
