Another scientific journal “Bulletin of KazNU. Series of Mathematics, Mechanics and Computer Science” of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is included in the Scopus scientometric database.   

     This is another confirmation of the consistency of KazNU’s course towards internationalization and the formation of a research university. Scientific publication “Bulletin of KazNU. Series "Mathematics, Mechanics and Computer Science" is published under the guidance of leading Kazakh and foreign scientists who make up the editorial board of the journal.

     The materials of the publication highlight the latest current problems and achievements in the field of mathematics, mechanics and information technology. Along with Scopus, the journal is also indexed in other well-known scientometric databases such as CrossRef, EBSCO, DOAJ, RSCI, as well as Web of Science. In 2022, the journal was included in the Web of Science database, and this year received the first impact factor of the indexing base. The journal's publications are cited in proceedings of prestigious international conferences and in highly rated scientific journals.

    Scopus is the world's largest abstract database, which allows you to determine the level of citation of articles in scientific publications. The database contains more than 20 thousand publications from 5,000 international publishers. The quality of Scopus data is recognized by leading universities and research organizations that use the database to evaluate research work, and by rating agencies to compile global university rankings.

     As follows from the policy of the Expert Council for selecting content for the Scopus database, for an international audience the publication of relevant scientific articles in a journal is an important and decisive criterion for inclusion of a journal in the database. Thus, “Bulletin of KazNU. Mathematics, Mechanics and Computer Science Series" was peer-reviewed and selected based on evaluation criteria such as academic contribution to the field under study, citation of journal articles in Scopus, geographic distribution of editors and authors, clear and publicly accessible statements of publication ethics, and much more.

     Published in the journal “Bulletin of KazNU. Series of mathematics, mechanics and computer science” articles are highly appreciated by the Expert Council of the Scopus database, which makes a worthy contribution to raising the international scientific prestige of Al-Farabi KazNU.

    It should be noted that the magazine “Bulletin of KazNU. Series of mathematics, mechanics and computer science" is the first bulletin, and in general, the third scientific publication of KazNU named after. Al-Farabi, included in the Scopus database. Thus, the database already indexes the journal International Journal of Mathematics and Physics and the journal Physical Sciences and Technology. The inclusion of another scientific journal in the prestigious scientometric database will undoubtedly contribute to the further promotion of the university in the subject rankings QS World University Rankings by Subject and Times Higher Education World University Ranking by Subject.
