February 16, 2019 at the Faculty of Medicine and Health of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University the eighth meeting of the scientific club “Journal Club” was held, where participants with PhD- student of the scientific and pedagogical direction of the 1st course A.I.Zhumanov conducted a critical analysis of the scientific publication on the diagnostic accuracy and medical -economic efficiency of screening methods for colorectal cancer. The selected article was a good example for writing scientific publications containing the results of our own research for our undergraduates and doctoral students. In addition, the meetings of the Journal Club help develop and improve the practical skills of participants based on evidence and critical evaluation of scientific literature data. Regular participation in the Journal Club also affects the structure of knowledge within the framework of an individual development plan for students. All those present at the meeting of the Journal Club actively participated in the discussion, asked questions in an informal atmosphere, which contributed to an open conversation.
