The XXVIII memorial of Gusman Kosanov was completed in Almaty in which about 300 athletes from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Syria, Turkmenistan and Kenya participated.
Gusman Kosanov was one of the strongest sprinters of the Soviet Union. In the history of Russian sport, he also entered as the first Kazakh, who won a silver medal at the Olympic Games in the relay race 4 to 100 meters (Rome, 1960).
Finals in all types of long throwings included in the program of XXVIII Gusman Kosanov Memorial were held on the second day of competition, June 30, at the stadium "Almaty-Arena". In men in this form, nine participants were declared.
