February 6, 2018 in Petropavlovsk hosted the Kazakh Championship in Greco-Roman wrestling among athletes under 23 years old. Hundreds of promising young Paluans from all over Kazakhstan came to Petropavlovsk to identify the strongest and try their luck on a professional carpet. The RK student Esentaev Ruslan became the RK champion in the weight category 55 kg.
