On February 12, 2021 by the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, the Scientific Research Institute of Biology and Biotechnology and the Scientific Research Institute of Ecology Problems in a hybrid format in the Al-Farabi library organized the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Aspects and innovations of environmental biotechnology and bioenergy", dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, dean of the faculty of biology and biotechnology of al-Farabi KazNU, doctor of biological sciences, professor Zayadan Bolatkhan Kazykhanovich.
During the preparation of this event, more than 100 applications for participation were received from 66 organizations of 8 countries - Kazakhstan, Germany, Russia, Pakistan, Poland, Turkey, France, China and Uzbekistan, of which 83 articles were competitively selected and has been published in Materials of the conference in the volume of 296 pages.
The plenary session of the conference was held in two stages. Within the framework of the first part of the plenary session, 9 reports of domestic scientists who made a huge contribution to the development of environmental biotechnology in Kazakhstan were heard. These are well-known doctors of sciences, professors Zhubanova A.A., Mansurov Z.A., Sadanov A.K., Zhambakin K.Zh., Bisenbaev A.K., Kanaev A.T., Nurzhanova A.A., Abzhalelov A B., Bigaliev A.B. In the second part of the plenary session, 7 reports of foreign participants were represented.
The wide geography of the participants confirms the relevance of the topic of the conference and the issues considered within its framework. This Conference made it possible to summarize the results of biotechnological trends in the world on a wide range of issues united in two sections:
• Aspects, innovations and achievements of environmental biotechnology
• Innovations and advances in bioenergy
Within the framework of the conference, the following problems were discussed among the main topics: experience in the development of environmental protection and bioenergy regulation in the European and Asian regions; globalization of environmental problems in the 21st century and the search for possible answers. It should be noted that due to the high professionalism, personal interest and responsibility of each participant, the conference was held at a high scientific and methodological level. The reports of the conference participants were distinguished by the undoubted depth of theoretical analysis and high practical relevance of the problems under consideration. Participants of various sections made suggestions, recommendations, and also outlined prospects for the future.
According to the results of the conference, it is necessary to note the high level of plenary and poster presentations, the growth in the level of publications of research in the field of environmental biotechnology in Kazakhstan for publication in rating journals and the development of scientific relations in solving priority scientific and technological problems in the field of environmental biotechnology and the importance of holding such events with the purpose of forming a scientific environment and supporting the development of domestic science.
