The 74th International Astronomical Congress was held from October 2-6 in Baku, the capital of the Azerbaijani state.

Nurgazy Tomiris Nurmatkina is a 4th year student of the Department of Mathematical and Computer Computer Modeling, Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Tomiris recently studied for six months at the University of Tsukuba, ranked among the top ten in Japan, under the JASSO scholarship program.

On September 20-23, 2023, the Mathematical Society of the Turkic World (TWMS) with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Akimat of Turkestan region and the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after H. A. Yasavi (MKTU) was held the VII World Congress of Mathematicians of the Turkic World (TWMS Congress-2023).

First-year master's students from the Department of Mechanics, Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Alina Abdidin, Kuralai Eldoskyzy, Nazerke Momysheva, and Beket Bodau, presented their papers at the VII World Congress of Mathematicians of the Turkic World (TWMS Congress-2023), which took place in the city of Turkistan from September 20 to September 23, 2023, with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the administration of Turkistan Region, and the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after H.A. Yasawi (IKTU).

On September 19, at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, within the framework of the international educational project of the Erasmus program, Professor Marcin Kot from the AGH University of Science and Technology (Krakow, Poland) gave a lecture.
