On September 24, 2020 at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics took place a meeting and acquaintance with the new counsellor to the French ambassador for cultural relations - Alex Bortolan. The meeting was attended by the dean of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics Zhakebaev D.B., deputy dean Bektemessov Zh.M., as well as heads of departments and director of the center of “Geo-Energy” Christine Bouteiller. During the meeting, issues of further cooperation were discussed.

Scientific seminar "Education and Science in the Framework of Sustainable Development Goals"

On April 17, with the support of the UN Information Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the IV online scientific seminar "Education and Science in the Framework of Sustainable Development Goals" dedicated to April 12 - International Human Space Day.

 The seminar was organized by the Department of Mechanics and Print and Electronic Media of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

Young scientists of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics won a grant from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan

The project of young scientists of the Kazakh National Al-Farabi University won the competition for grant funding for young scientists on scientific and (or) scientific and technical projects announced by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The project "Digital technology for the rational planting of technological wells and the management of their work in uranium mining by the method of underground leaching" developed by a scientific team led by PhD, associate professor of the Department of Mechanics Karlygash Alibaeva, will affect the important state program Digital Kazakhstan.

In the framework of the international scientific conference of students and young scientists “Farabi Alemi”, an annual competition of innovative projects of student business incubators was held at the Kazakh National University.

Young scientists from the Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty also took an active part in this competition and presented three projects.

In the period of April 6-8, at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, the international scientific conference of students and young scientists "Farabi Alemi" was held online.

A graduate of the Department of Mechanics, PhD Bakbauov Bakbergen Ermekbaevich on the eve of the holidays “Science Day” congratulated his native alma mater on the glorious anniversary of the 85th anniversary of the Department of Mechanics, as well as the 10th anniversary of the educational programs “Geoenergetics”. He wished the entire team of the Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty of al-Farabi Kazakh National University, new creative and scientific achievements, further successes in a big and important matter!

Recently, the assistant professor of Mechanics department T. Kunakbaev shared with one story related to the photo ghosts of famous pilots.

Omirbekov Sagyn Kumishanovich - a graduate of the Department of Mechanics, Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, a student of Professor A. Kaltayev. In 2013, through the Geo-Energy Program, he entered a double master's degree and had the opportunity to further his education in the French Republic. He is currently completing a doctoral program at BRGM (French Geological Survey), the Center for Geological Research in the French Republic, and at the University of Arts et Metiers ParisTech.

Currently, 100 holders of "Abay-Vern" scholarship are studying in France, of which 90 master students and 10 doctoral students from various universities in Kazakhstan. Among them, a graduate of Mechanics Department of the al – Farabi Kazakh National University Turtayeva Zarina doing her doctoral research at LEMTA (LABORATOIRE D'ÉNERGÉTIQUE ET DE MÉCANIQUE THÉORIQUE ET APPLIQUÉE) laboratory of the University of Lorraine in Nancy, France.  

According to the plan of pedagogical practice, it is envisaged that undergraduates - trainees will conduct several lectures, seminars and laboratory classes for undergraduate students in subjects of relevant specialties.
