November 22, 2023 senior lecturer of the Department of Biotechnology Kaiyrmanova G.K. organized an excursion to the anatomical museum of the Kazakh National Medical University named S. Asfendiyarov.
Our guide was Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Normal Anatomy Shakenov Bauyrzhan Sh. The history of the museum began in 1931. Basically, the anatomical museum has normal human organs: joints, respiratory system, genitourinary system, gastrointestinal tract, various muscles, etc. cited. In addition, the museum presents birth defects: anencephaly (congenital absence of the brain), babies with fused legs (mermaids), Siamese twins and other developmental pathologies.
