The Recreation Geography and Tourism Department of the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University invites you to participate in the International Scientific Conference of Students and Young Scientists “FARABI ALEMІ”, which will be held from April 6th to 8th, 2021.

Students, undergraduates, doctoral students, young scientists of the Republic of Kazakhstan and neighboring countries are invited to participate in the conference.

Participants' reports will be presented remotely (online) at breakout sessions from April 6th, 2021.

As part of the conference from April 6, 2021, the following activities will be held:

1. Round tables;

2. Scientific discussions;

3. Capacity-building session;

4. Meetings with prominent scientists, politicians, and lawyers.

Working languages – Kazakh, Russian, and English.

The secretaries of the conference accept applications and abstracts in electronic form until March 20, 2021.

February 25 at the Digital Innovation Laboratory of TURAN University (www.turan-edu.kz) in the format of a special event of the 4th Eurasian Summit of Digital Economy Leaders (www.proyoung.kz) the final qualifying round of the 2nd National Competition of Students-Entrepreneurs of GSEA Kazakhstan was held (www.gsea.org) 2020 / 2021.A little more than a month has passed since the announcement of the competition and during this time the organizing committee has received 14 applications from schoolchildren( 1 application), students, undergraduates and doctoral students of 5 universities in Kazakhstan, who own and successfully manage their companies during their years of study.The chairman of the HIGH JURY and the chief judge of the competition was Oleg Parakhin, owner and CEO of HR-holding ELITE (www.elite.kz), founder and President of the Kazakhstan Institute of Project Management.

On February 25, 2021, in the curatorial group of the teacher S.A. Mominov of the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism, an open curatorial hour was held on the topic “The role of D.A. Kunayev in the history of Kazakhstan ”. Students thoroughly prepared and approached this event responsibly. They prepared a presentation on D.A. Kunayev and a small blitz survey. As we all know, the role of Dinmukhamed Kunayev in the modern history of Kazakhstan is very difficult to overestimate. During the years of his leadership, Kazakhstan reached very great heights in all spheres of life - from industry and agriculture to culture and sports. During the curatorial hour, students presented very interesting facts from the life of Dinmukhamed Kunayev. The event took place in a friendly and warm atmosphere.

On February 23, at 14.00, Undergraduates of the 1st year Zayrakhunova Dilnara and Seytimova Asem held an event on the topic "Everything is learned with experience". At the event, the speakers told about the experience of famous people, ups and downs. The guests had the opportunity to ask questions from the former employee of the Committee of the tourism Industry Baekeyev Yernur Tolybaevich. He shared his invaluable experience, and also told us what mistakes should not be made in interviews.

On February 20, at 12.00, undergraduates of the 1st year of the Department of "Recreational Geography and Tourism" held an event on the topic: "How to become a leader?". Thepurpose of the event : to create psychological and pedagogical conditions for improving the effectiveness of the educational system by further developing the leadership qualities of students and involving them in personally and socially significant activities.At the event, the speakers talked about leadership and how to become it , as well as a test to identify leadership qualities and a training consisting of 5 steps to wake up a leader.

On February 20, at 11:00, a meeting was held on the topic: "New Educational Programs and methodological conference". All the coordinators of the existing educational programs of the Faculty of Geography and Nature Management were invited. From the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism participated: Aktymbaeva A. S., Moldagalieva A. E., Abisheva Z. M., Plokhikh R. V., Aktymbaeva B. I., Ableeva A. G., Zhakupova A. A. Topical issues on the methodological conference to be organized at the al-Farabi Kazakh National University were discussed at the conference.

Undergraduates of the 1st year of the Department of "Recreational Geography and Tourism" held an event on the topic: "Experience is the best teacher". Invited guest: a former employee of the Committee of tourism industry of Bekeev E. T.
The event discussed the importance of experience in a person's life. Bekeev E. T spoke about his experience working in the Ministry of tourism: how he got there, about the pros and cons of working in state-owned enterprises. The guests also shared their life experiences, what they learned from their mistakes.

Approved by the order, the State Commission of teachers of the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism of the Faculty of Geography and Nature Management, chaired by the Candidate of Geographical Sciences Victoria S. Krylova (JSC "Institute of Geography and Water Safety", Almaty), held a comprehensive examination in the doctoral program PhD in the specialty "6D090200 – Tourism"on 05.02.2021 from 10:00 to 12:00. The comprehensive exam was conducted according to the academic calendar and the working curriculum of the specialty "6D090200 – Tourism" as a special form of final certification for the 3rd year in the 6th semester of the PhD doctoral program. The purpose of the comprehensive exam is to assess the level of development of the doctoral students 'competencies of the educational program of the specialty" 6D090200-Tourism " and the requirements of the state educational standard.
