On April 7, 2021, at 16:00, within the framework of the international scientific conference of students and young scientists "Farabi Alemi", a round table was held on the topic "Tourism During the COVID-19 Pandemic" on the ZOOM platform. 32 people attended. The organizer of the round table was Litvinova-Kulikova L.А., 1st year PhD student of the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism, head of the sales department of the “Farab” International Tourism Agency

During the discussion, the participants of the round table discussed issues of mitigating the impact of the pandemic on the tourism sector in the world and in Kazakhstan, measures to transform world tourism and the development of domestic tourism during and after the pandemic.

Meeting of the director of the "Certification Center of the Hospitality Industry" LLP (SCIG) Zaituna Tokhtarovna Akhiyarova with the final year students of the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism in the group of educational programs "Tourism".


LLP "Certification Center of the Hospitality Industry" (SCIG) was established in 2013 as a structural element of the Kazakhstan Tourism Association (KTA) and the Kazakhstan Association of Hotels and Restaurants (CAHiR).


The main task of the SCIG is to improve the quality of services in the hospitality industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, to introduce a system of certification and assessment of the compliance of personnel of tourism industry enterprises and to assess the compliance of the quality of training in the system of technical and professional, higher education of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the requirements of professional standards in the industry.


Subjects of certification of the Personnel Conformity Assessment Body (OPS P) SCIG LLP – specialists of the tourism industry and the hospitality industry (hotel enterprises and catering enterprises), as well as graduates of specialized educational institutions of technical and vocational education (TVE) and universities who want to confirm the declared qualification (http://www.kagir.kz/kg_0303_2.html).


Z. T. Akhiyarova told the graduates that an applicant who meets the established requirements can pass the certification. The candidate must provide documented evidence of the presence of specialized education or course training, attendance of training courses, conferences, seminars, as well as work experience in the qualifications claimed for certification. If necessary, the OPS P may require additional training.

INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE OF STUDENTS AND YOUNG SCIENTISTS “FARABI ALEMI”, “TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY” SECTION

On April 6, 2021, an international conference of students and young scientists "Farabi Alemi" was held at the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences. During the conference, at the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism, reports were presented on the following sections:

Section 1. Tourism

Section 2. Hospitality

For participation in the conference on the section "Tourism" 75 works were submitted and, on the section "Hospitality" 7 works were submitted from students and young scientists.

 

Students and young scientists from other universities of Kazakhstan (Narxoz University, North Kazakhstan University named after M. Kozybayev), as well as universities of neighboring countries, such as Orenburg State University, National Research University “BelSU”.

 

The works of students and young scientists were devoted to topical problems of the tourism and hospitality sector.

 

At the end of the conference, the best works of students and young scientists were awarded with diplomas.

IX INTER-UNIVERSITY OPEN OLYMPIAD FOR STUDENTS STUDYING IN THE DIRECTION "TOURISM", FOR "ZHASTUR" CUP (ONLINE)

The Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, in cooperation with the Tourism and Sports Development Club of the Republic of Kazakhstan "ZhasTour" invites you to take part (in online format) in the IX Interuniversity Olympiad of students studying in the direction of "Tourism", for the "ZhasTour " cup.

Undergraduate students in the field of study "Tourism" have the right to participate in the online interuniversity Olympiad, who have sent an application to the organizing committee in the prescribed form and copies of identity documents (student card with a photo or a record book).

The number of teams from one educational institution is no more than two. The team consists of 3 people from among full-time students.

The Olympiad will be held on April 23 (Friday) 2021 in the format of online presence of team members using the ZOOM software.

"Restaurant business after COVID 19”

On March 26, 2021, at 14:00, a master class was held on the ZOOM platform "Restaurant business after COVID 19". There were 45 people present. The organizer of the master class was a teacher of the department of "Recreational Geography and Tourism" Bazarbekova Madina Medeuovna.
The conference was conducted by Bulatova Aigerim, Managing Director of OLOVO bar. Experience in the restaurant business for about 15 years.

Береке бастауы – әз Наурыз

On March 20, 2021, 2nd year students of the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism organized a festive concert in online format in honor of the spring holiday of Nauryz Meiramy.

Nauryz, symbolizing the beginning of the year, is a special and sacred holiday, the day of the spring equinox.Nauryz is a holiday of unity and brotherhood, humanism and renewal, harmony and trust. The Kazakh people, along with other peoples of the East, solemnly celebrate this holiday.

During the festive concert, students played the dombra, sang folk songs, danced, organized an intellectual game on the theme of the national customs of the Kazakh people. At the end of the event, the students expressed their warm wishes to all the teachers and students of the department.

Master class "Bar industry in Kazakhstan"

On March 11, 2021, at 15:00, a master class was held on the ZOOM platform on the topic "Bar industry in Kazakhstan". There were 26 people present. The master class was organized by the teacher of the Department of "Recreational Geography and Tourism" Bazarbekova Madina Medeuovna.

At this master class, there was an introduction, a story about Yana Abilova, the senior bartender of the Gastro-bar Gastreat. During the master class, the following topics were discussed: the history of the bar industry; the correct operation of the bar; the main job of a bartender; the hierarchy of bartenders; what you need to know to become a professional bartender and the questions and answers that the participants of the master class asked.
