On February 23, the publishing house “Chance” celebrated the traditional Chinese “Candle Festival”. This year, Chinese New Year celebrations will begin on February 12th and last until February 26th. On the last three days of this holiday, the “Feast of Candles” is celebrated. During this festival, Yuanxiao, a small round bread made from rice flour, is prepared. The performers dance with lanterns in the shape of dragons or tigers, walk on stilts, and release firecrackers into the sky. On the occasion of this holiday, today the publishing house “Chance” celebrated the traditional Chinese “Candle Festival”. Deputy Director of the Book Chamber Salmenbayeva Tolkyn Turgalevna, Head of the Department of Chinese Studies of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Al-Farabi National University, doctoral student Farida Orazakynovna, teachers and students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Kazakh University named after Abylay Khan Teachers from the Chinese Language Teaching Center of the University of International Relations and World Languages came to him. Students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Department of Chinese Studies of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University came and showed their art.
