Orazakynkyzy Farida won the title of "Best University Teacher" in 2019.
 From August 5 to August 25, 2020 Orazakynkyzy Farida has participated in the “2020 Summer Overseas Local Chinese Teacher Online Training Program” offered by Capital Normal University (with 32 class-hours in total).
 On January 20, 2021, in Beijing (China), Orazakynkyzy Farida was awarded the "Best Leader" award in the dubbing competition of Chinese films and television works among foreigners.
  On January 20, 2021, in Beijing (China), Duisenbay Kulpynay was awarded the "Best dubbing actor" award in the dubbing competition of Chinese films and television works among foreigners.

 From November 30, 2020 to January 20, 2021 in Beijing city (China), a competition was held to dub Chinese films and television works among foreigners.

2 teachers and 21 students of the Department of Chinese Studies were awarded the title of "Best dubbing actor". In addition, 3 leading teachers of the department, in particular, Farida Orazakynkyzy, Duissenbay Kulpynay and Maulit Bakhytnur were awarded the "Best Leader" award.
  On January 20, 2021, in Beijing (China), Maulit Bakhytnur was awarded the "Best Leader" award in the dubbing competition of Chinese films and television works among foreigners.

 In 2020, Asel Bisenbaeva became the owner of the 1st degree, having won in the republican competition for the best young scientist in 2020, which was held with the aim of popularizing young scientists of the country according to the program article of the first president N.A. Nazarbayev "In the focus of the future: spiritual revival."

   On November 18, 2019, the rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Galimkair Mutanov, presented the badge "For Merits in the Development of Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan" to the professor of the Department of Chinese studies, doctor of historical sciences Mukhametkhanuly N.
 Senior Lecturer Sharipkazy Nurtalip was awarded by a letter of thanks on behalf of the entire faculty and administration of the Faculty of Oriental Studies for active work and excellent work in the advisory activity.

 

On April 14, at 10: 00-12: 00 the Chinese language "Chinese Bridge" contest was held between the universities of the Almaty, the following students of the Chinese Studies Department of the Oriental Studies Faculty became winners:

1 place - Onlanova Janel (2 year-student)

3 place - Umurzakova Lyazzat, Burkhan Bayan, Azbaeva Aray (4 year-student)

Onlanova Janel, who won the first place in the competition, won a scholarship for a period of 1 year at any university in China.
   

On April 11-12, “Фараби әлемі” International Conference was held at the Faculty of Oriental Studies.
Bachelor, Master and Doctoral students took part in the conference.
The opening of the conference was held on April 11 at 10:00, the work on 5 sections was held 10:30 to 18:00.

Section I. History, economics and politics of the eastern countries
Section II. Actual problems of Oriental languages
Section III. Problems of Literature and Translation of Eastern Countries in Literary Discourse
Section IV. Eastern society, culture, religion
Section V. Eastern countries in the foreign policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
On April 12, the closing ceremony of the conference and the awarding of the winners took place at the U.A. Zholdasbekov Palace of Students.
The students of the Chinese Department took the following places:

3rd place:
Beisen Adelina (1 section)
Umurzakova Lyazzat (section 2)
Urumbaev Esbol (section 5)


In the annual republican Olympiad on the specialty "Oriental Studies", held between the universities of RK, the following students became winners:

I place - Murzageldina Laura.

II place - Arappaeva Aizhan, Beisen Adelina.

ІІІ place - Estakova Diana, Karayeva Dilnaz, Temirhanova Aigerim.

The winners were awarded diplomas of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Institute of Confucius at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University presented valuable prizes. In addition, the Consulate General of China in Almaty awarded three scholarships to study in China.

In the intellectual competition about China among students of higher educational institutions of Almaty "Inexhaustible treasure of the Silk Road", students of the 4th year of the specialty "Translation studies" Burhan Bayan took 2nd place, Azbaeva Aray took 3rd place.
 

A 4th-year student of the specialty "translation studies" Shayakhmetova Dana became the prize-winner of the photo contest "My China", finishing second.
