As a specialist on China, teachers of the department are involved in various scientific and research projects relating to the history, culture, economy, politics of China and Chinese language.

In January 2012, the Department awarded a grant of Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of the Kazakhstan to the research project "The paradigm of the modernization of China and the socio-economic development of Kazakhstan". Project coordinator is Dr, Professor N.A.ALDABEK. Project participants are Associate Professor P.E. BEKTURGANOVA, Ph.D doctoral student, Senior Lecturer D.B. DAUYEN, Ph.D doctoral student, lecturer A.E. SERIKKALIEVA, MA, Assistant M.B. ASSYL. The project will be implemented over three years. The project results will be presented as a collective work of the participants.

By the program “Gylymi-Kazyna”of interdisciplinary council of social and humanitarian institutions, Department of Chinese Studies in 2012, applied for three projects under the title "Historical and cultural heritage of the Kazakh nation in museums of China" (project coordinator: Prof. N.A. ALDABEK), "The Shape of the Chinese person in Kazakhstan: a view of Kazakhstan persons"(project coordinator: Associate Professor Z.S.BATPENOVA), "Ancient and Modern Literature of China" (project coordinator: Senior Lecturer D.A. Madiev).

In addition to these research projects, our teachers Amanzhan ARZYKULOV, Dinara DAUYEN, Moldir ASSYL were involved in the project KISS under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan "China through the eyes of Kazakhstanis", the presentation is scheduled for June 2012.
