On March 11, 2023, Orazbayev Sultan, a 1st-year master's student of the Department of Chinese Studies, won the 1st place in the 26th elocution competition among students studying Japanese in Kazakhstan. This competition is held every year at the initiative of the International Japan Foundation and the Embassy of Japan in Kazakhstan in order to support the development and spread of the Japanese language in foreign countries. Despite the fact that his main language is Chinese, Sultan, who is learning Japanese on his own at the Kazakhstan-Japan Human Resources Development Center, competed with strong students studying Japanese and won. We wish Sultan, who is fulfilling the Kazakh proverb "Know the language of seven people", good luck in future competitions.
