In this academic year, 19 students majoring in "orientalism" entered the department of Japanese studies of the Far East Department of the Faculty of Oriental Studies.

A seminar for Korean language teachers was held at the Korean Education Center in Almaty from June 27 to July 1, 2022.

On May 28, KazNU named after al-Farabi celebrated the day of the graduate. Anniversary graduates of the Faculty of Oriental Studies also visited their alma mater. This year, the 2007 graduates of the Japanese branch, who celebrated their 15th anniversary, were awarded nominal scholarships in the amount of 100 thousand tenge. The best 1st year students Alimkyzy G. and Abdulova I. received a scholarship. The graduates also donated a translation of the Koran into Japanese to the faculty. The faculty, in turn, handed over the holy Quran to the scientific library of the university.

A traditional seminar for Japanese language teachers from Central Asian countries was held in Almaty on May 22, 2022. The seminar was attended by teachers of the Japanese language from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. As well as specialists from the International Japan Foundation. In the first half of the seminar, each country made a presentation on the situation of teaching Japanese. The second half of the seminar was in the workshop format. It examined "Methods of online learning". During the workshop, teachers shared their experience and new methods acquired in the process of teaching online, as well as the introduction of these skills into the traditional learning format. As a result, Japanese teachers discussed the emergence and development of a new learning format with a hybrid of online and offline formats.
