November 2021. According to the results of the annual awarding of scholarships from the POSCO Foundation, one of the seven awards intended for foreign (students studying only on a paid basis at the Al-Farabi KazNU University) students.   The 10 best, most diligent and active students were selected from among all students at the university. One of them is a student of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Alpysbay Dinara. The total amount of scholarships for students on a paid basis was 800 $.

On September 24, 2021, at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Al-FarabiKazNU an annual event “Meeting between Sonbe and Hube” (meeting-acquaintance of students of the Department of Korean Studies) was held for students of the Department of Korean Studies of the Department of the Far East.

The celebration of the traditional Korean holiday "Chuseok" took place on the offline platform, under the guidance of an invited professor Lee Byong Jo and advisers (A. Sailaukenova and M. Begalieva) on 21st September, 2021. It was attended by students of the Department of Korean Studies of the Department of the Far East.

Recently, before the beginning of the new academic year 2021-22, at the Department of the Far East of the Oriental Studies Faculty of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. There was a meeting with guests-doctors from the Dongsan Medical Center (Director Choi Eunju) in Almaty. During the meeting, the ceremony of awarding korean masks (KF94) from the Dongsan Medical Center, which opened in 1995 in Almaty, took place.

On April 27, 2021, under the leadership of the curator-adviser of the Department of the Far East Tazabekova G.B. for the 2nd year students of the Department of Japanese Studies, an online conference was organized on the topic: "The structure and history of the formation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan." An officer of the Air Defense Forces, the Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Major Altaev Alzhan was invited as a guest. Altaev Alzhan presented to the attention of students the presentation on the history of the formation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan and outlined in detail the structure of the Kazakh army. The officer also noted that every conscientious person should be a patriot of his homeland. The students expressed their sincere gratitude to Altaev Alzhan for an informative and interesting conversation. The online meeting was held at a high organizational and content level.

On May 5, 2021, students of the Department of the Far East of the Faculty of Oriental Studies held an online event dedicated to May 9 - Victory Day. The purpose of this event, which was attended by students of 2-3 courses of the Department of Korean Studies, is to glorify the great Victory, honor the exploits of our ancestors who showed courage during the Second World War, raise the spirit, and educate students in love with their Homeland, country, and land.

On april 29, 2020 year, U. A. Amirbekova-head of the student scientific circle "Shin Sede" of the Far Eastern Department of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. as well as curator B. Zh. Tashkenbayeva and 2nd year student Mels Inabat, Medinaeva Maya, Zhuanysh Aliya, Kurvanzhanova Arzigul, Esmagambet Dinara, Tlectes Nazerke, Zhaksylyk Nurzhanat organized a quiz "Me and Korea" within the week of korean studies.

On April 7 and 28, 2021, an online meeting was held between students studying Korean at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi KazNU and students studying Kazakh at Hanguk University of Foreign Studies. 

On April 13 this year, within the framework of the project "Rukhani Zhangyru" at the Far East department of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, at 16:00, an open educational hour "Time management" was held. The open educational hour was organized by the 1st year master student Aytuar Arailym with the 2-3rd year students of the specialty "Oriental Studies". The purpose of the event was to give young people an idea or opinion about time, teach them to use time planning in practice, and give effective advice. During the lesson, the students shared their thoughts about which method they liked and which of these methods they will use in the future. Lecturers of the department Tashkenbaeva B.Zh. and Serikbayeva Z.A. handled and commented on the lesson.
