Graduate students in the specialty mechanics of the Department of Mechanics underwent international training at ECM Space Technologies GmbH, a subsidiary of the Berlin Technical University (Berlin, Germany ) according to the program of the summer school "Industry 4.0 - the digital revolution."
On February 22, 2019, the Department of General Sciences of the Academy of Civil Aviation conducts an Intercollegiate Olympiad on the theme: "THE YEAR OF THE YOUTH - THE BEGINNING OF NEW OPPORTUNITIES" in the disciplines "Physics" and "Higher Mathematics".
The main attendees of this event were high-school students of the RFMS of Almaty.
The event was attended by more than 10 universities of the city. Also among them were teachers of the Department of Mechanics of the Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi.
A graduate of the Department of Mechanics of the Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi Seydulla Beksultan won the competition "Program of summer internships in scientific laboratories for specialists and undergraduates" of the Educational Foundation named after Academic Sh. Esenov.
Under the guidance of the curator-adviser of the department of mechanics A.K. Sakhaeva, an open curatorial hour was held on the theme “Independence Day of Kazakhstan”. First-year students of the specialty “Space equipment and technologies” took part in the curatorial hour.
November 21-24, 2018, the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications hosted the Kazakhstan Robotics Championship among universities and schools as part of the Digital Kazakhstan program. The championship in two categories was attended by 10 teams from schools and universities of Kazakhstan. Age of participants - from 14 to 29 years.
Students of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of the Mathematical and computer modeling department not only study hard, but also actively participate in the public life of the university.
The sport event "Faster, stronger and higher!" was held in 27.10.2018 from 14:00 to 17:00 in the sports complex of KazNU. The competition was organized by the Deputy Head of the Mechanics Department D.E. Turalina and 2nd year PhD students.

Master students of the 2nd year of study at the Department of Mechanics of the Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zarin Turtayev, Elaman Maksum and Didar Bergentayev won a scholarship to the Abai-Vern program.
